Honesty, quality and friendliness characterize this Roman trouvaille.
Initially going for a snack, after seeing the selection in the counter I asked Federico to surprise me with an antipasto. The insalata caprese with pomodori pugliesi essecati al forno - among others - was a success....His proposed white assemblage from the Friuli region also a hit. The cake that most restaurants lack was also found here, in the form of a crostata di visciole. And as other customers have already remarked, the bread is made in heaven... Proper wine glasses and a fine china coffee cup keep adding to the experience.
Il Goccetto deserves all our support for delivering so much without being pretentious. It is a great combination.
I am very glad about this discovery!More
One of my favorite spots with regards traditional and historical wine bars in Rome. A warm environment where I can also pick a lovely selection of cold dishes (cured meat, cheese and so forth). Staff is competent, efficient and mostly friendly. A real treat!
If you like your wine and are looking for a place to enjoy libations, then look no further than this gem adjacent to Campo. It looks and feels right and the wine list is out of this world. A great selection of some truly special...wines from italy and France and....and....
The service is impeccable and they are knowledgeable and friendly.
The clientele, like the author of this review, are wine enthusiasts and Il Goccetto is a sanctuary filled to the rim with some truly amazing tipples.
So do not miss this place on your travels to Rome if wine is your thing.More
We wanted to try a new place on our third visit Rome this year, and this was just what we needed on our first night: lively, friendly, good prices, great wine, and delicious food, Including great cheeses and charcuterie. We had enjoyable conversations with the...people around us, who cheerfully made room for us when we arrived. We will certainly return on our next visit to Rome!More
We stumbled upon this wine bar on our walk back from dinner. We were happy to enjoy a glass of rosé.
Great ambiance, lots of choice on the wine list... Wish we could have made it back again to enjoy a bottle and some food....Highly recommended....More
I'd seen this wine bar near my hotel, but could not really go in as it was always packed with locals, even spilling out onto the pavement.
But Wednesday afternoon seemed opportune on my way back from lunch as it was less busy. Very helpful...staff, good English. Did not know that much about Italian wines, but I explained what I wanted (1 red / 1 white) and he chose for me two excellent ones.
Bill €13 which was good value.More
