The menu choice was limited. The waiter then informed us of further choices which were unavailable. The pasta was undercooked irrespective of the 'al dente' excuse. I asked if the 'chicken' was breast meat. I was advised that it was. It was not. I made an attempt to peel skin from the brown slops of meat disguised in tomato sauce,... More

Just a few minutes from our hotel Villa San Pio, in between the Circo Massimus and Pyramid metro was our favorite meal from our trip. We arrived 10 minutes before they opened and they gladly welcomed us anyway. They don't normally make mojitos but made one for me and it was delicious. They brought me a bag to put my... More

Very small restaurant in a quiet neighborhood. It was not very busy when I was there. I ordered just a all’Amatriciana pasta without expecting too much, since it is not my favorite pasta (because of the bacon), but there were not many other options in the menu that would not include seafood. For my surprise, the pasta was delicious, mostly... More

In a quiet neighbourhood you find a treasure of a restaurant. Amazing food, great wine and brilliant service. The waiters can recommend the best options to you based on your tastes. I would recommend 100%

Have passed this place for years and decided to eat there. A very limited menu, heavy on fish and elaborate descriptions. Three of us were there, and very little appealed to us. In the end we each ordered a pasta. I was served al dente (fine: it's Rome) past swimming in red sauce. It was drowning the pasta. Eventually, I... More

No way to have anything else than real Italian food, sometimes it will look unusual and never seen before in touristic Italian restaurant, but it's Italian!

We visited here while staying at hotel san Anselmo. Staff are very welcoming and informative. The menu is in English and Italian. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious. The food was amazing, our bill for 2 starters, 2 mains, 2 desserts, a bottle of water and a bottle of wine was 100 euro; which is very reasonable for the... More

4th time here, still the best food, service, and atmosphere you can for find. Each time try something different and have them choose the wine. You will not disappointed.

Staying in Aventine

Neighbourhood Profile
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighbourhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
