No need to say more … if you don’t try this osteria, it will be your loss. Reservations a must, a GPS to locate, and you will be in for a culinary treat you will remember for a long time.

Great service, great hand-made pasta, great fish. Best restaurant during our stay in Rome (and they were all good!), we went there twice.

Outstanding authentic Osteria in Trastevere. Excellent seafood. Try the Carpaccio di Spigola con Tartufi. The grilled octopus was one of the best - charred on the outside, tender on the inside. The lobster pasta looked amazing as did all the other many dishes that zipped...past us on their way to please the many tables full of happy Romans. We chose the less common dishes and did not regret it. The fried calamari with artichoke was both surprising and deliciously crunchy. We were sitting next to three Italian friends. They ordered what seemed to be an endless stream of shellfish and grilled seafood intermixed here and there with small pasta plates that the chef gives you as a free tasting. We were given a sample “assagino” of spaghetti vongole. Great place for food lovers and not unreasonable. Highly recommended.More

We completely adored this restaurant. I’d read a few mixed reviews but decided it was worth giving it a go and I am SO glad we did. A proper little Italian restaurant, fantastic food and hilarious funny service. We were constantly laughing with our waiter...and felt so at home. See you next time!More

Busy place with tons of atmosphere. Definitely book in advance if you want a table on the ground floor. The sea bass and truffles was delicious as others have said. We shared the linguine with lobster which was divine. Service was friendly and the Ferrero...Rocher dessert was a great surprise. Thoroughly recommend.More

Visited after an Italian friend recommended for decent authentic food/experience. We booked ahead, and on arrival we’re told our table was downstairs, not in the main restaurant. We were taken to a room at basement level, very bright lights, no natural light, And air con...set to freezing. My partner and I were seated alone, nobody else down there. Waiter put on music, some house/dance CD, whilst upstairs had typical Italian music on. Another couple were bought downstairs, so it was us two couples alone down there. No atmosphere and really awkward. Food was ok, mozzarella and bresaola to start, then lobster linguine to share for main. Pasta was hard (not al dente, undercooked) and swimming in a buttery/oily broth. Not great at all. We were seated at 9, out by 9.50. Rushed evening in a cellar with mediocre food and dance music. Couldn’t help feeling because we were tourists and not Italian they didn’t really care about our evening and experience.More

In 2010 we had an amazing meal at this restaurant. The food was seriously delicious, but the service really made the night—in a way that many people might not appreciate. What do I mean? I mean, our waiter was a total character. He seats us,...gives us our menus, and takes our drink orders. But when he comes back with the drinks, he won't let us order any food from the menu. No, he says—you should order from the board! So he takes off again, comes back a few minutes later, and we order some specials. One of them is an amazing-sounding lobster pasta. We start drinking our wine and taking in the scene. Nice atmosphere, plus I can watch the cooks working in the kitchen. When he eventually brings our food out, we are disappointed. The lobster dish has a lot of shell and hardly any meat. Looks like a rip-off. This totally wouldn’t fly in the United States. Then we try it. Oh my GOD, the broth. Incredible! We start scarfing down the pasta. There are some loud people at the table next to us. They’re American—maybe from Texas. The man flags our waiter down and says, "Hi. Could we please get some parmesan over here?" The waiter pauses a moment, then says, politely but firmly, “No cheese on seafood in Italy!" and walks away. We look at each other and start cracking up. The waiter has our respect now. He is Italian, he knows this restaurant makes great Italian food, and he’s not going to let tourists invent their own “Italian” culinary experience here. Good for him. Plus, we just learned something. At dessert time, it’s same story—don’t order from the menu, order from the board. So we do, and have something delicious that I don’t remember, because the lobster pasta has already taken up all the food-related space allotted to this memory. When the bill comes, it’s lower than expected. We paid more last night for a meal we didn't enjoy half as much. In the end, we got a delicious, reasonably priced meal, a memorable experience, and a great story to tell. What more could you ask for?More

This was the best food I have EVER eaten in my life! Me and my fiancee went 2 nights in a row on our last 2 nights in Rome. The first time we went we ordered the seafood sauté (shrimp, mussels, clams and calamari) and...it was simply delicious, we also had the recommended white wine by the waiter and it was brilliant. We then had the main dishes that were pure perfection. Afterwards, we made a reservation for the next night for 7:30, when they open. When we arrived we were greeted by name with hugs and kisses from the waiters, who are just great. We had the sauté again as an appetiser, and we had the 2 portions lobster spaghetti (with shrimp and clams) and in between, we received a small complementary dish - spaghetti with shrimp and clams, and it really left another good impression. The lobster spaghetti were the best spaghetti we’ve both had and they were actually 4 portions instead of 2 so by the time we were done, our bellies were extremely happy. Overall, we will recommend this restaurant to everyone who wants to visit Rome and we are definitely coming back specially to eat here again!! Much love :)More
