Very popular restaurant going back around a century. Food is good & typically Italian. Although we were squeezed in as it was early in the evening that was on the strict proviso that we would finish in an hour & half. As it turned out...More

La Carbonara had been recommended to us by several different people including a local. I will work returning! The restaurant is very traditional, very busy (so do book in advance) and the pasta dishes were faultless. We started with a negroni at the bar whilst...More

We visited for lunch after a reservation to enjoy delicious carbonara. We also had saltibocca ala romana and spaghetti cacio e pepe. Lovely small restaurant with helpful staff (and you don't always find helpful staff in Rome restaurants). Recommended!!

The first thing you see is a sign saying that this is not a fast food restaurant. So, don't rush. There was a line outside before 12:15pm, waiting for the opening at 12:30. The restaurant is old / classic. Small tables that are close to...More

The carbonara as you would expect was excellent! We went for lunch and booked ahead, I'm pleased we did as there were people queuing outside waiting for opening time when we got there. We didn't have to wait long for the food, I would recommend...More

Went here with some business colleagues when visiting Rome and was pleased with the food - really tasty and service was excellent. I recommend the lamb.

First of all make sure you book to avoid the long queue at opening time. The restaurant is relatively small but the food is very good and the Carbonara is really so good that you shouldn’t miss it. Good friendly efficient service. Recommended.

We showed up around 9:00pm and after a brief wait, we were taken to a table in the backroom. We were put in a table in the corner, which was really not an aesthetic location to be, especially considering how nice the front area is....More

Visited here for dinner on the 28th and found the food to be really good. A lovely neighbourhood restaurant which seems to be held in high regard locally. Also spent some time at the bar having a couple of cocktails after which were simply excellent....More

Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighbourhood just
west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as
it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet
for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season,
quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its
cobblestone streets. The neighbourhood supports unique
and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime
residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at

We went for lunch without booking. Were told 1hr waiting which we did to get away from the heat. Had some wine at the bar and chatted away with on the the brothers. I think we ended up waiting 20/30min. I am glad we did!
