TLDR: €5 for the best pizza I’ve ever had, great value and *fantastic* taste. Worth visiting if you happen to be in Naples.
My partner and I went in for a simple margherita to try Neapolitan pizza for the first time, and we kept to...the original margherita to prevent any toppings from tipping the scales in any way, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that it was the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life. For a shockingly low €5 (Domino’s is more expensive) every single aspect of the pizza was absolutely perfect, from the cheese to the crust. As someone who typically enjoys toppings on their pizza it was better than all my favourite toppings combined. Every bite was tangy, umami and flavoursome, had the perfect bite, and was surprisingly light and fluffy. The biggest shock to me was the rich tomato sauce and salty soft crust, both of which I was previously indifferent to whilst eating pizza - the crust and tomato sauce was simply a vessel that carried the glorious cheese and toppings. On occasions where eyes were bigger than belly, I would eat the pizza up till the crust and discard it, however this time it was just as delicious and addictive as the tomato base and cheese. The pizza was equally perfect in all aspects - the crust, sauce and cheese combined equal efforts to make something super special. I ate the whole thing feeling full without the stodgy, guilty feeling after. Instead I felt satisfied I don’t normally write reviews, but I had to let everyone know that if you’ve not had Neapolitan pizza before, there’s a reason it’s the best in the world, and if you happen to come from Naples train station, this understated spot is perfect.More
