This family run restaurant is tucked away in a back street. Although the menu was short the dishes we chose were perfectly cooked and very good value for money. The service was friendly and efficient, we will definitely be coming back next time we are in Naples.

We could not get a table at the adjacent taverna dell'Arte (we visited it the next day), so we decided to try La Chitarra, also recommended by the Osterie d'Italia guide. The food is standard food of southern Italy; the only dish that stood out (in a good way) were the linguine alla catarese. A good place, perhaps not for... More

During our stay in Naples we visited this Osteria twice and were impressed on both occasions. It is family run with a simple menu. The quality of the food and the service were excellent. Try the meat balls and the soups both delicious. Would recommend to anyone. Note it is not open on a Sunday.

We are here in our first night in Naples. Wonderful family run little Osteria, friendly service with good home cooked food which tasted great and the house wine was nice too. Recommended.

We stumbled on this restaurant as it was round the corner from our hotel – it is a bit tucked away – and we loved it. Everything we had was delicious and service was very good. We even had a bit of singing and guitar playing included – but not too much! One of the best meals we had on... More

The food is simple Neapolitan fare, but very well executed in my experience. The menu is rather small (for example, 4pasta choices I believe) but this is not a bad thing. I have been twice - this year and about a year ago - and both times the experience has been excellent. The polpette are very excellent. In addition to... More

We stumbled upon this charming, small, family-run restaurant and were delighted by the cuisine, ambiance and service. There is, indeed, a guitar on the wall, which gives its name to the restaurant. Because it's small, reservations are recommended (though the owners seated us because we were fairly early). Entrees are cooked to order and absolutely delicious.

This is a trap for the unwary tourist (like us). Small room filled with tourists and no locals. Yes, it's okay but you will leave feeling that you have been mildly ripped off.

We had a great meal and great time at this restaurant. I would say this is a perfect example of family owned and run restaurant done perfectly. Food is rustic but really good. The owner is friendly and helpful. I will visit this little gem again on my next trip to Naples.

The menu is limited....It doesn't matter. The wine list is limited it doesn't matter. The food is good Neapolitan fare, fresh produce cooked very well BUT the ambience is exceptional and when 'la chitarra' is taken from off the wall and the singing begins you are in for a rare treat. This was a wonderful dining experience.
