I mistakenly thought that visiting during low season (January), there would not be a wait. Wrong. I arrived on a Saturday around 8 PM and the line was down the block. It is very disorganized and although it looked like a line to get in, it was actually a line of people who already put their name on the list. I did not realize this for a half hour or so, at which point I had to push my way through the over eager customers to get to the host in the doorway to add my name. As I was traveling solo, it did not take as long as I feared - probably an hour total, including the wasted half hour. They could be better/ louder announcing your name; it's very tough to hear amongst the crowd along with any accented pronunciation. The businesses across the street and nearby take proper advantage of having a crowd, as you can get cheap wine/ spritz/ snacks while waiting. This makes the wait much better! I was seated at the counter and the waiter came in about 5 seconds, before I had a chance to read the menu. Then it was tough to get his attention again when I was actually ready to order. It is clear the wait staff is pretty much running ragged. I didn't find the waiter rude at all, just busy and definitely not sociable. I ordered the pizza diavola and while it was delicious, it was not my favorite of the trip (that was at Starita). The prices are unbeatable - my check for the pizza, coperto, & a glass of wine was only 10 euro. My hotel was near the restaurant so I walked by many other times, and if it was lunchtime or a bit earlier than normal dinner time, the line was much, much shorter. I would go back but not a Saturday prime dinner hour.

My partner and I arrived around 10pm last night (Monday,) there was still a bit of a crowd but we only had to wait 15 mins which was fine. What was not fine is that we had to wait an additional 15 mins once inside, whilst the waiter in our area proceeded to take the orders of 3 couples that came in after us. We couldn’t even order a drink. This could have all been forgiven had the pizza been amazing, but it wasn’t. The ingredients are good, but the dough was undercooked and heavy. The atmosphere in the restaurant is good, we don’t mind communal seating and the prices are good, but that was about it for us. Personally I think there are better pizzerias in Naples.

Holy cow this place is insanely popular, people wait in huge crowds outside to get in. What we eventually figured out is you can just push through the line, tell the guy at the door you want takeaway, and you go inside to pay and order, then they shout out your name from the door to give you the pizza. We just stood at the little bar next door and had a drink, got the pizza within 10 minutes and ate it at their bar table. It was a very good pizza. The crust was too soft for my preferences, but the sauce was unbelievable. Sort of sweet, but just so delicious. The pizza was very good value as well.

Immediately after eating your pizza you get a bill shoved under your nose. The moment you're done eating they want you out. They pushed us several times to leave. They literally even asked us if we were ready to pay and leave while we had our full drinks in our hands. Don't eat here. You deserve better.

We had very high expectations of some of these pizzerias whilst visiting Naples, however I believe their fame is also their downfall. We wanted to try this one out as it is one of the best rated. We had booked for dinner, we were looking forward to a pleasant evening and good food. When we arrived at the restaurant around 15mind before the booking time, there was already a very long queue outside. Once the restaurant opened, we were let in like a flock of sheep and given our tables. After a couple of minutes they come to take your order. We were no ready and they rather abruptly said that we cannot take too long to order. We ordered and were given also our drinks (served in plastic disposable cups). There is no flair or charm in service. Basically they do one seating of the whole restaurant, and once you eat they expect to be out so they can get in the second seating. In less than 1 hour, we ordered, were given the food, ate and paid the bill. If you are looking for atmosphere, this is not the place for you. We felt really rushed and could not enjoy the dinner. The pizza was nice however with everything else not being up to our liking, we still have a very bitter taste.

We expected to queue, but in total it took 80 minutes to get the table. The list system was not in order of signing up but based on allocations on the group size. It was very disheartening for larger groups to be eating whilst the two of us still waited despite having arrived much earlier. We kept of thinking ‘we’ll give it another ten minutes and then we’ll give up’ but somehow we kept waiting for as long as we did. The two pizzas we had were excellent, and with two soft drinks the bill was €22. But the waiters were not friendly, and on the edge of being just rude. And what might seem petty, but the rubbish cutlery (think very cheap and bendy, especially the rubbish knives) and plastic cups for drinks; felt more like a student refractory. Not worth it. Probably just as good food served by friendly staff at other restaurants on the same stretch of road.

Thanks to my Italian friend’s recommendation, we went to Sorbillo for lunch. You have to squeeze through the crowd of ppl to give your name to the staff with the number of guests at the door and they will announce your name when your turn is up. We waited for approx 45 min outside the front door. Ordered the famous Margarita with Bufala cheese off the back of recommendation from staff. When the pizza came I thought mine was a little moist in the middle with tomato juice and olive oil flooding the area. Nonetheless I still ate it and to me, the combination of the ingredients and baking technique were perfect. Really differentiate itself from other. Now I know what all the hype about this place is all about and fully justified too. I would go again but at times when the queue isn’t that long.

We had to wait more than an hour as the restaurant was so busy, however it was totally worth it. You can sign up on the waiting list and have an Aperitivo in the small bar in the front while you wait and then they call your name, just bear in mind it might take some time because of how popular it is. We got a Margherita pizza with mozzarella di bufala and another with pistachio pesto and mortadella, both were absolutely dreamy and cooked to perfection.

Set on the sea front in Naples, Sorbillo comes with a well deserved reputation for excellent pizzas. Unfortunately on the day we visited the staff left a lot to be desired. Despite only three tables being occupied it took more than twenty minutes for the waiter to take our order and even then he broke off twice to continue a conversation with his friend. When the food was served the same waiter couldn't be bothered to offer a glass with our beers. The pizzas we're very good. On asking directions to the toilet we were directed downstairs through a pile of broken furniture and when the cashier was asked to confirm its location she angrily shouted , obviously annoyed that her phone call had been interrupted by a customer! Finally , we had to ask for the bill six times before going back to the cashier and asking please could we pay. What could have been a memorable and enjoyable experience was ruined by rude staff so be warned! And to add insult to injury they add a 10% cover charge and 12% service charge!

We came in right before the closed for mid-days so we didn’t have to wait at all. There are a lot of pizza to choose from, bir they’re all in Italian, which makes it a bit hard to understand. We ordered two different pizzas and both of them came out very quickly. The size is pretty big and the middle of the pizza is a little too soft for my liking. The flavor is good and the price is pretty affordable.

Wait was very short, likely due to COVID (got a table within 5 minutes, half an hour after opening). Service was great and the food was fantastic. Pizzas were very large and filling — we got two pizzas and each only ate half of ours; got a takeaway for the rest. Staff were very kind, explaining the menu as it wasn't available in English. You pay for water and service charge (3 euros pp) but even then the bill was under 15 euros for two people. Absolutely will be returning to try the whole range of pizzas offered. Fabulous meal!

Sorbillo is now a pizza empire and surely one of the most famous pizza places in Naples. Our experience was the following: the waiting itself is not an issue. You should be prepared for it of course (some people seemed surprised) and it is possible to order a drink at an adjacent bar. I think it took maybe 30-40 minutes. The rest was not so great. We were told to go to a room in the basement, which in itself would not be anything to complain about save for two issues. When my wife sat down, the chair simply folded under her (one of the legs was broken) and she fell. It is a miracle she was not hurt. I can imagine serious consequences, especially for an elderly person, or someone who would hit the stone floor or wall with their head. There was no waiter present and we waited maybe 30 minutes, if not more for someone to come down (it required two other diners going up and reminding them we exist). The waiter was shown the broken chair and he simply took it upstairs. Not even an apology. The red wine we ordered was so warm it was almost undrinkable. Finally - the pizza. While it was a good pizza, my direct comparison to I Masanielli in Caserta (just a day before) left no doubts. The difference was very clear. Sorbillo was not in the same league. So to me it was an item on the famous pizzerias list to check. I have experienced it myself and that’s enough. I am not dreaming of coming back.

We thought we’d honour this place with our final meal of our stay in Naples. What a mistake that was... After adding our names to the list at approximately 9.30pm, it was at 11.30pm we were questioning how good a pizza could possibly redeem our night. After finally getting in, 2 hours later, we were unsurprisingly disappointed. Having found our way to a room that smelt strongly of vomit, the waiter mercilessly rushed us into ordering one of the worst, most regretful meals of our already sheltered British lives. With a mountain of £2.00 frozen pizzas and a handful of pizza express family meals, our expectations for ‘Naples’ finest pizza’ was set high. Boy were we disappointed... Having experienced the true ‘worlds best pizza’ the previous night, a short walk from this establishment at ‘l’antica pizzeria de michele’ at a similar price, the choice isn’t hard. Save yourself an evening in Naples and enjoy your night the right way. Severely disappointed, overrated and terrible customer experience.

I was told by a couple of friends that I should try their pizza because it was amazing. And unfortunately, what was amazing was the rudeness of the staff and the nothing-special pizza itself. I have been eating pizza all my life and the pizza here is ok, don’t expect fireworks or a great culinary experience. Our waiter wasn’t particularly nice or interested in giving anyone eating there a good service. I had to ask for a knife a few times, always trying to catch the waiter’s attention which he tried to avoid. Equally, I asked for sparkling water, was twice brought still water, and only got sparkling third time round, no apology. To his credit he charged only for the one bottle of sparkling water. I guess this place is famous for the bad service, so if you want that to be part of the Naples experience, go for it. Otherwise, avoid. There’s pizza just like it, and even better, elsewhere in Naples.
