The restaurant is very popular with local people, which is obviously a good sign. Unlike the trendy restaurants offering expensive, pretentious fare, here you can taste the food Italians eat at home every day, from pasta with potatoes and smoked cheese to eggplant parmesan. The staff are friendly, the food is excellent and the wine is cheap. And it's just... More

Bookings essential: the place is small(ish) and there can be a line to get in. The waiter will list the three first courses and the three main courses of the day, since the menu changes accordingly to what the cook found fresh and appetising that day. Wish more restaurants adopted this policy! The food is really special. We had everything,... More

This was our second time, highly recommended by those living in Salerno. Appetizers are fun, small sized assortment of cheese, quiche, soup, and whatever else the kitchen creates. The pastas are rich, the fish fresh and simply prepared.

As they should be, the proprietor(s) were very welcoming and gracious to our group of 6. The small dining room was crowded but the traffic of patrons and wait staff well-managed. The food, salubrious, but the large, showy plates crowded our eating area. Can't go wrong with any menu choice. Prices - fair and typical of the venue of this... More

We went to this restaurant by chance. We couldn't find another restaurant that had been recommended to us and we are so glad. Cicirinella has a wonderful authentic feel. The menu is small and local with fresh produce locally produced. The service is amazing and again feels like family owned. The place was pretty empty at 8pm but by 10pm... More

We had two pasta primi's. The pasta Scarpariello okay, but the Tubetti do Fruitti de Mare (seafood) was very good, generously full of mussels and clams. The entrecôte was tender and nicely seasoned, as was the squid which was nested in fresh thyme and cream of peas.

We went to Cicirinella based on the reviews from Tripadvisor and thank goodness we did. The staff were fantastic from the outset - passionate, friendly and honest. The mixed starter was delicious. I had the seafood spaghetti (again delicious) and my husband had an anchovy pasta which he found very tasty. The house red wine was excellent.

we had great food there on a friday night. we had no reservations and they asked us to wait for 20 minutes for a table. they gave us each a glass of wine to help with the waiting. the food was fantastic - risotto with pumpkin and a whole fish deboned and baked with potatoes. i highly recommend this restaurant

A little bit tucked away from the main streets but worth finding. Felt like we were sat in a little cave - a very nice atmospheric set up. Staff are super friendly and chatty and the food was delicious.
