Our hotel recommended this place to us after we requested true Italian restaurant were local people would eat. Every dish was fantastic and we received good service. Be aware they dont accept credit cards, so have cash handy to pay the bill

The food here is exceptional. Definitely the best I’ve ever had in my life as I took the Handmade pasta with traditional Napoleon sauce with slow cooked beef on top. The beef was falling apart on the plate and every bite was so full of flavour. My boyfriend took the lamb chops which was also exceptional. Total bill came to about €98 which includes 2 drinks, 2 side dishes, 2 mains and 1 desert. Special shout to Sarah as she was such a kind and exceptional waitress.

We had a wonderful meal at Taverna degli Apostoli. Located right next to the Amalfi Cathedral, we arrived without a reservation shortly after they opened for dinner. The server politely asked us to wait, explaining that they'd be able to seat us if one of the reservations didn't arrive. Fortunately one reservation didn't show and we were seated up on their little terrace that overlooked the main Piazza Duomo. For starters, the service- as warm and polite and knowledgeable as anywhere we ate in Italy. The staff all seemed to be genuinely happy and worked as a team, at various points all of them seemed to interact with our table. The wine list was excellent and our server passionately gave us the background on each wine we tried. We never felt rushed as we ate through multiple courses. The food was also quite delicious- highlights were the calamari over pumpkin puree, lemon pesto, and ziti with onion/beef sauce. Overall an excellent meal and one of the highlights of our time in Amalfi.

Booked a table for our final night in Italy, and when we arrived it wasn’t ready. As what we believed an apology for the delay we were seated outside and offered a glass of wine whilst we waited. 20 minutes later, we were finally seated and ready to order. The first waiter who attended us politely informed us he needed to speak to another member of staff to serve us as I am coeliac. Another 20 minutes passed, with no attention given to us (now 9:40) finally a waiter came to take our order. As I asked could the pasta be gluten free as mentioned on their website I was told not at dinner times as it is too busy, it is only something they offer at lunchtime. We mentioned that this wasn’t clear on their website or reviews, for us to only be told by another waiter that the reviews were old and we should have checked earlier! I was shocked. Politely, as pasta was the reason we had chosen their restaurant, we asked to pay for the water we had ordered. To further rub salt into the wound we were then given a bill where we were then charged a full bottle of wine, despite being offered the glasses by a waiter as we had waited over 20 minutes because our table was not ready! Now nearly 10pm before we left the restaurant and with all other restaurants now closing we were left hungry and with no other option than to return home!

This is an excellent place - food was great, service was great, atmosphere was great. We were for a family dinner, me, my wife and our 2 kids. Waitress spoke freely English, was very attentative and at the same time respectful of our privacy. Kids had spaghetti with lemon dressing and gnochi with cheese filling. Both of them were happy, ate with great appetite. Even our youngest, who sometimes is rather picky. My wife had for appetizer squids with pumpkin puree and for primi - pasta with scallops, shrimps etc. Food was delicious. I had Caprese with Burrata and sea bream cooked in broth. Very very very good. Atmosphere of Dome square certainly helped, really catched that Italian vibe of the long summer evenings.

Again one of my favorite places to eat in the city of Amalfi! Ate there 3 of 12 nights of our stay in Amalfi. Sara and her Significant Other who run the small place on the steps of the church in the main square offer one of the best menus and wine list. Will go asap! Momma and Poppa in the kitchen and such a great group of people! Like eating at grandma's house.

Without doubt, the finest meal I have ever had in Italy (and I have had a lot). Visited tonight for our Wedding anniversary and to celebrate our last night in Amalfi. The restaurant is full of quirky art and supplemented by chilled out music, Every member of staff is friendly and helpful , the wine is exquisite and carefully selected to your taste. Now for the big one, the food. Michelin quality at reasonable prices, we had the Lemon Pesto spaghetti for a starter, Sea Bream and a rack of lamb mains. The whole experience was superb and I highly recommend this hidden gem under the Cathedral, far superior to any other Amalfi restaurant, I’m only saddened by the fact that we found it on our final day.

Everything about this restaurant is great. The food is excellent. It is made with attention and very well explained by the waitresses, which all serve you with a smiling face. The ambiance is perfect. Even if it lacks a good view, it is just next to Duomo. This restaurant makes it up with it's amazing qualities.

We enjoyed the food and ambience a lot. The waitress was amazing, very polite and very fast to attend to all needs. We didn't have a reservation but at 7 30pm they had a table free luckily. Prices are not cheap however the norm for the Amalfi coast since we are finding that starter and main almost reflect the same prices. Highly recommended

We enjoyed a lovely meal at this restaurant to the left of the church in the main square. They have a reasonably limited menu and take cash only. We were thrilled they were able to take us in without reservations. We had a lovely table in a separate area with more privacy and a view down to the crowds below. They brought out bread, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. We started with an amazing octopus dish served in a liquid oil broth. We didn’t know what to expect and were surprised when we saw it arrive; but it was the best octopus my sister and I have ever eaten. Highly recommended. For our main we ordered the lemon pesto spaghetti and the seasonal cooked vegetables. The pasta was good, with a generous serving and nice amount of sauce. We were glad we were sharing as neither of us would have enjoyed eating only this as our main dish as it needed something more to add to the flavour. That is where the vegetables came in. The eggplant cooked with tomatoes and onions was very tasty and a great accompaniment to the pasta. Together they made the dish very enjoyable. We didn’t have an appetite for another course. Good we noticed on others’ thanked all looked delicious. I would recommend and return again if visiting Amalfi.

Had look on trip advisor and with mixed reviews decided to actually go and have a look. The entrance to the main restaurant is tucked away to the side of the cathedral steps. Staff were so accommodating and we were given a stunning table for two with amazing views down and across the main square. The food was outstanding, everyone was raving about the lemon pasta but it really is as good as they say ! The lamb chops were like butter so soft and melted in your mouth. The wine selection was also the best so far. A little more expensive but well well worth it, the quality of the food and the passionate staff made it a well spent evening.

This is has got to be by far one of my favourite restaurants in Amalfi. Sara and Luigi provide the perfect ambient, their service is impeccable; professional yet friendly. The food is fresh and mouth watering; I absolutely recommend the spaghetti with home made lemon pesto - it is divine. I genuinely can't recommend this restaurant enough.

The food was good and the waiters were nice and helpful but the food was too expensive. We ate the ”catch of the day” for 2 people. It was a sea bass together with some roasted potatoes. No sause or salad and the portion wasn’t slightly small. This cost us 35 euro per person. It was good but too expensive. They also only took cash

We visited the restaurant in August as a couple and what an amazing experience it was. It is located on the main square next to the steps leading up to the cathedral and therefore the setting is truly amazing. We had the ham & burrata and octopus as starters, followed by steak and sea bass as mains. The food was simply outstanding and had great wine pairings with it. My only remark would be is that they only serve lemon tarts as desert and have no coffee, which is especially for Italy somewhat unusual. But other than that absolutely fantastic and worth visiting, although it is on the somewhat more pricey side.

If you are visiting the town of Amalfi, this is the only place you should eat. The experience here was amazing - the food was INCREDIBLE (obviously authentic Italian recipes that have been perfected over years). The staff were so friendly, they took the time to give us facts and recommendations with food & local wine, and the location is just under the church overlooking the city square (it’s beautiful). We stumbled across the place, but literally returned the night after as well to try more of their menu. The restaurant is cash only but don’t let that deter you, just come prepared/visit the ATM downstairs. Special thank you to Sara in particular, who made our visit so special - we will never forget our evening’s here. (We will be back).
