After trying several restaurants in Amalfi I found Taverna degli Apostoli a whole different experience. The food was of excellent quality, made even more enjoyable by the beautiful surroundings, works of art, and cool music. I ate there five times, and every meal was exceptional. I particularly recommend the bream, cooked on a bed of lemon leaves. Luigi and Sara... More

Fantastic meal sitting outside in the warm sunshine, overlooking the piazza! Ordered the homemade pasta with lemon pesto... simply amazing! 2nd course was their orata (sea bream) baked on lemon leaves... also delicious! Enjoyed a glass of local white wine... la dolce vita! Every time I'm in Amalfi, this is where I will be eating!

Using Trip Advisor to avoid tourism traps has worked extremely well this this place is confirmation of that. The food was great, as was the service. The atmosphere is great, the owner is an art collector so there is an eclectic mix of items around the walls, add that to some nice Jazz music and you get a memorable dinner.... More

I ate here twice while in Amalfi. The service was great and the food was superb. The pasta, fish, salads, cheese and wine suggestions were out of this world. It's easy to find, just look to the left of the church and you'll see it. I highly recommend it.

Walk up the steps by the duomo and you enter a fascinating restaurant. It is like a museum of different artworks. And then the food. A superb menu and wonderful food. One dish was exceptional, a pasta in lemon sauce. The staff were so friendly and helpful. It stands out from other restaurants for quality and atmosphere

The setting outside next to the cathedral is very pretty and great for people watching. Witnessed a couple weddings while we enjoyed our lunch. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Although not inexpensive, the handmade pastas and sauces were very good. Wine recommendations were very good as well. Far enough away from the crowds to be comfortable and relaxing.

December is obviously the absolute low season at the Amalfi coast. Taverna degli Apostoli was the only restaurant we could find where we could eat really good food in a nice atmosphere. The staff made us feel at home from the moment we entered, the pasta with lemon pesto was delicous, as was the wine. An absolute succes!
