Went here for lunch and were both blown away by this place. Setting was extremely unique, staff were extremely professional and patient with our limited Spanish! The food was exceptional, one of the best meals we’ve ever had let alone in Valencia. Sardines, ham, grilled...leek, goats cheese were all faultless. Sirloin steak was the star of the show, melt in the mouth. Wish we. Oils have gone back, don’t miss out in this absolute gem! Thank you for a memorable experience.More

This place is simply wonderful! We came here in 2019, and we are happy to be able to visit it again this year! The staff is great and super friendly, food is excellent and well prepared with all authentic flavors, a must visit when in...town!More

We loved sitting in the old tavern area, surrounded by barrels. The food and service make this place special. My husband had the tasting menu - five tapas and dessert - I had the tuna belly plate. The rustic bread is a must to mop...up all of the delicious sauce! Make a reservation.More

We managed to get in on the early sitting 7.30 Took a while to warm up but excellent service thereafter. It’s a really traditional place with a lot of history in a gritty part of town. We sat in the small front part of the...restaurant on counters. I would recommend this unless you are in large group. The big seating area is at the back on tables. You have to climb under the bar to get there. Fun but better in the small part. Fabulous place with lots of wind barrels and tiles walls. Real old school. Menu is tapas with a difference. Lots of unique things like cuttlefish roe and smoked eel. Great choice of wind z as bailable too. It’s a must visit for uniqueness.More

The food was outstanding, the quality and freshness was just absolutely perfect. The marinated tuna was one of our favorites, just so refreshing! However it was very difficult to order as an English speaker, there were no English menus or staff that spoke English to...help us out. So it was quite a challenge to order, but definitely worth it!More

Having read great things about Casa Montana - especially its desserts - here on the forums, a visit seemed due. There was no room to sit in the front hall (I haven’t seen the back, so no idea if COVID regulations were in place) but,...having just eaten, this was only going to be a dessert stop. Hence, this is just a quick write-up about their desserts and atmosphere. Waiting for the takeaway treats, you could tell that this place is beyond loved by locals. Everyone was having a good time, the food looked great and the staff were very friendly. The place itself looked fantastic! A real throwback to pubs of old. As for the sweets, the truffles are indeed to die for. I’ve never been a fan of neither dark chocolate nor truffles, but these were exquisite. Great texture and combination of bitter, sweet and fragrant. If you try the tocinito del cielo (tocino is basically a slice of ham, but make no mistake - this is a dessert, very similar to the creme brulee), definitely get the one with tomato jam. It’s unexpectedly fresh and fragrant, two types of sweetness blending together perfectly. Last but not least, the traditional valencian orange dessert brings a refreshing twist to the traditional cream cheese. Fun fact, the takeaway version comes in special jars that the staff is very fond of - so you will be charged an extra 2 EUR for the jar, but you can get that back if you return it!More

This was far and away the best meal I had during my stay in Valencia - in fact the best I have ever had during all my travels in Spain. Get here early if you haven't booked to make sure you can get a table...and you won't be disappointed. Everything is just delicious and so fresh. Service is really friendly with lots of recommendations and suggestions with plenty of options for those like me who need gluten free food - they have a special menu that lists all the different items that are suitable which is most of them as a lot of the tapas are basically fresh veg anyway. I had a plate of wonderful fresh local tomatoes with lightly grilled artichokes, a plate of ham, some croquets and a hunk of gluten free bread - all delicious and steaming fresh which left me feeling satisfied without that overly full feeling. There is a great array of drinks too both alcoholic and non alcoholic with gluten free beer as well which comes highly recommended from me. For me this meal was just perfect for a warm day at the beach relaxing - get here just as soon as you can and you won't regret it.More

Our local friends brought us here to experience what tapas can be. We had been disappointed with tapas we had during another trip to the Alicante region. This visit more than made up for it. For one thing the place radiates character. In a quiet...out of the way location, it is nothing fancy, just real. It dates to 1836. The husband of the couple who brought us here is something of an epicure. We had marinated tuna, excellent patatas bravas, morcilla and more. The service was very friendly.More

We actually came to this restaurant for my 30th birthday three months and foolishly didn't book. Nonetheless, the lady on the door was very sweet and helpful with finding us an alternative. This led us to revisit in November 2020 (after booking this time) and...the same great service was evident throughout our time in the restaurant. The tasting menu is incredibly good value for €30, and included the best beef sirloin I've ever eaten.More

We’ve dined there twice and enjoyed good food and service. It’s fashionable and popular. House wines and barrel brandy are very good. Menu is small which I consider a good thing and some tapas were more impressive than others. Portion sizes aren’t big but it...serves above average tapas and definitely a dining experience worthy of a visit. Impressed that we were invited to store our bikes inside their office space for security.More
