Best paella restaurant in the city I was told, only open for lunch (13-16h). Very nice mix between authentic spanish interior with a modern twist. Popular restaurant among locals, so reservation is mandatory. This was our first ‘real’ paella experience. First we started out with...some local Valencian starters, which were delicious. This was accompanied by a great Verdejo. We had the seafood paella which looked great and was delicious as well. Great serving staff, very helpful. Not cheap, but worth the price. Would definitely go again.More

We had lunch here. I had never had a proper Paella before and cannot judge whether this is the best or not - but enjoyed the one served a lot. The starters were okay. Very friendly service and an impressive wine list. The server chose...a white Rioja for us which we have never had before, it was a great wine. Be aware though that this place is pricey. The Paella prices are per person. A seafood Paella for 4 runs you EUR 100. For me the xperience was worth the price but it surely is a lot for four gambas, a bit of fish and rish...More

First time visit on Monday with my son and a couple of his friends. I wanted them to experience traditional paella in an original setting. We weren't disappointed! It was an excellent experience from the impeccable service through to the beautifully prepared and presented paella....We'd chosen the paella de marisco and enjoyed a number of excellent seafood starters while our main dish was being prepared. The paella is prepared to order and cooked over a traditional orange wood open fire which adds further flavour to the dish. As you walk through the restaurant you can see the fires through a glass wall. Certainly worth checking out. May seem a small thing but many so called traditional paella restaurants have dropped this tradition in favour of gas hobs. Probably easier but I doubt tastier than Casa Carmela! Sunday is when Valencian families typically get together over a long lunch. A reservation needs to be made here 2 or 3 weeks in advance...minimum! The fact that the vast majority of people at the restaurant are Spanish families from Valencia is probably the best recommendation. I couldn't fault this placeMore

We had a great experience here - food was delicious! Have a look at the menu beforehand and order ahead for paella. Because it’s such a big place I felt that sometimes we were a bit forgotten (drink orders delayed, long time to get the...bill after we’d asked for it) but overall a great place to have lunch.More

They say its the best paella.. its disappointing!!! The food was late, and the paella was dry and burned! The only good thing was the sangria and their home made bread!! Never coming again, really es una estafa!!

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel my family stayed with in Valencia (hubby and I lived in another hotel). So bookings were called in by telephone. It is located near the beach which is approx 15 minutes with car from the city. We were...greeted very warmly and gestured to sit indoors. The restaurant is air conditioned, the staff are ALL very friendly, kind and eager to please. The restaurant was huge, clean and was full of familes and couples everywhere. Beautifully laid out it was. We were 4 People and recommended to eat starters before the paella. The amount of paella that was to be served per person was explained to us all (they were so professional). Meat and rabbit paella (paella de valencia) -one must order ahead. We ate the seafood paella. Everything was VERY delicious and worth every penny. HIGHLY recommended. Thank you for your quality service! We Will definately be back!More

The food was OK, but nothing spectacular. The restaurant is a bit overpriced, so we expected their food to be amazing.... But it wasn't even the best paella we had in this trip (slightly salty and sea food texture not the best) The ambiance was...good and the staff was very polite and helpful.More

Mabel at our hotel booked this. We arrived 10 minutes early and there was a queue. I joined the queue and explained we had a booking and told to wait outside until called. I immediately thought we would be waiting outside until all the locals...were seated. 100% wrong. Whilst outside we were served wine and a plate of beautiful pickled vegetables. No more than 5 minutes until we were taken to our table. A beautiful restaurant. We were taken to a rear internal covered courtyard. Also amazing. Staff were super friendly throughout. Most important was the outstanding Paella. The best I have eaten. The lead up was amazing too. Octopus, Jamon, Anchovies etc. But the paella was a work of art. 4 hour lunch. Exquisite!! Super reasonable price too. A master class in doing one thing amazingly well.More

Our local friends took us here to experience authentic paella. A bright and lovely place. We were allowed into the kitchen to watch the various paellas being cooked. The food was excellent and the service gracious. I would happily return.

There is no fixed menu for children, but the typical paella is served in the middle and a Valencian custom is to eat it from the platter with a spoon. however, we usually serve portions on plates. There are also other dishes... More
