Just returned from 3 night stay in Madrid and this was our local. Friendly staff, great craft beer and good food - what more can you ask for.

The bar is located in a really nice neighborhood, although I don't think is very popular among tourists. We didn't try the food, but the selection of beer and wine was pretty good. I also liked the atmosphere and the staff, whose English was good - not so common in Madrid.

Called late evening and got friendly service. Good range of craft beers. Definitely worth visiting. Nice area to spend time mouching around.

Walked out of the hotel in the rain in search of another restaurant, but this one had some specials on the chalkboard and turned out to be really quite amazing. The first course I had an eel with caramelized apple and pickle thing that was - well - especially tasty, like sushi on steroids but the flavors worked really, really... More

Not so much a restaurant as a cafe style bistro. They have a lunch menu for 12 euros which is decent. It is typical home cooked food. When they stick to the basics and let the produce speak for itself is when they are at their best. Sometimes they try to be too creative and offer strange combinations - this... More

Having just come from another great local bar I thought I would try this bar as it was on my list. It was nice to sit outside as still very warm at 11pm. The beer was good just a shame the waitress was quite rude - she could explain enough of what I wanted in English for me to understand... More

Went a couple of times on recent business trip, both times very busy but they managed to fit us in. Tapas was delicious and extensive beer menu great. Will revisit on next trip to Madrid.

Really good choice of beer on the menu, makes a nice change from Spanish lager, if your into your ales it's a great place to be, a little pricey 6.5€ a pint, but nice to try for a few beers. Right next to the metro and an easy find.

Service was great : welcoming and flexible (we needed to divide the check into 3 with a bill for each of us). But don't go there for the food : everything is covered with mayo (salad dressing, dips...).

Thank Audrey M

Neighbourhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
