Enjoyed dinner on a Saturday night after the theater. We dined in the tapas (more informal) area; there is also a salon for more elaborate meat and fish entres. Our four tapas and desserts were just OK; inventive yet lacking in flavor; service was rushed at first and then disappeared entirely once things got busy. We arrived a bit early... More

Fantastic dinner out with friends in Madrid. The shrimp in garlic was fantastic as well as the octopus starter. Our kids had the solomillo and they all cleaned their plates. What a great place to go after a day out in Madrid.

While on business trip, I went there based on the high marks on Tripadvisor. All the good comments are wholy true. The food was great, the service was exactly right in all respects, the guys served me a couple of wine glasses that were more than great amazing (at 3.5 euros per glass). Overall, an honest, easy-to-feel-comfortable place, with a... More

It's hard to find a good quality restaurant in Madrid without being conned into the trap of touristic spot! Membibre is defo worth your time especially if you only have a short stay. It's a short distance from the main hub but within walking distance or a cab ride. The diners are all local and they don't have an English... More

We found this restaurant by chance, then looked up the Tripadvisor comments and we concluded that the community is right. This is a very good and worthwhile restaurant to eat. We loved the meat and the Tapas and we also can confirm that the service is very very good, friendly, comforting and with the right paste. We also can confirm... More

First of all- Fantastic, high-quality food! We ordered 6 tapas and were disappointed by none. The morro, which means cow lips, is truly delicious and a local special. The Tatani tuna is simply amazing. The price is reasonable (to the point that we think the 4$ sign on trip-advisor is slightly misleading). Secondly, the service is top-notch professional- they were... More

They definitely have amazing food! Tapas are so delicious and good quality.. So was the wine, and it was not like other "too cosy places". The waiter was friendly. They have terrace to sit out.. The only thing is that the restaurant is a bit old fashioned; tables, presentation etc. however I really enjoyed the meal, very good place for... More

Go for the "small dishes" not for the standard menu, and you' ll be delighted. A very well assorted list of tapas, good portions and great price. A very kind service and comfortable place.

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
