My husband and I have been travelling the world with stops at many different restaurants to do our reviews. Some glowing reviews and some not so glowing! Today we ventured out to this one, I must say, usually both having an appetizer each then the main course. To my dismay, the appetizers were much bigger than we expected, and were... More

We are from the Netherlands and we spent a week in Madrid. On 4th May the two of us wanted to go to a good fish restaurant. Searching on the internet and of course Trip Advisor, we found La Sirene Verde. It was around 9:30 pm. We sat on the terrace. We both ordered soup. The fish soup was lukewarm... More

This was a seafood restaurant on the Gran Via in Madrid-it was time for lunch and I wanted to have seafood. La Sirena Verde has a nautical setting. The waitperson was very accommodating and I was seated immediately and given a menu. I ordered a bottle of sparkling water and I got a 1/2 portion of prawns and a 1/2... More

With my family visiting and they wanted to try Paella, a quick Google search always leads one to some sorts of close options. La Sirena Verde sounded decent but I was wary knowing the neighborhood--right on Gran Via and a very touristy area. I know, higher prices, charge you for the bread and "service" without asking, etc. La Sirena Verde... More

Thought this would be ideal for dinner as the outside looked impressive. The staff were helpful. We ordered our starters and the main courses. Much to our surprise the food came altogether.. it was reasonably ok. There was some misunderstanding as we ordered two main courses the same but only received one. We were charged only for one. The fish... More

Thank you for your comment but we do not share your opinion. We are a quality restaurant, with 3 types of rooms with different rooms, and even private rooms on the upper and lower floors More

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
