Don't drink sherry normally but a member of our party recommended a visit because they had been before. What a gorgeous bar,no frills, nothing to drink other than sherry, wooden barrels lining the walls, rickety chairs and tables but most people stood at the bar, oldest posters...More

This place seems as authentic and unique as any in Madrid. I would not make a whole evening out of it but make sure to bring along some chatty friends, as there is no other source of entertainment, and you'll fit right in. Also a...More

Not much of a sherry drinker until I found this place -- dusty bottles that probably haven't been touched forever. Sherry poured directly from a keg -- fair prices -- eclectic crowd -- hate to review this joint as it may bring more tourist slugs...More

Second visit to Madrid in a year and revisited this iconic bar. To accurately describe this bar it would seem crazy to visit, mostly standing room, old furniture and fittings, bar needs total redecoration and as far as I can see , no staff speak...More

Being a fan of Hemingway's writing, I sought out this bar in Madrid as one of his haunts during his several years in love with the city. Not much has changed here since he sat at one of these tables, drinking sherry with comrades. You...More

This bar is really old and full of atmosphere, only sells sherry and is great if you want to practice speaking spanish. I can understand that they don't want to encourage lots of loud, raucous tourists but for those of us who love Spain and...More

For a real Madrid experience, this bar is a must-visit. Tucked along Calle Echegay, this long-standing, simple bar for locals serves lovely sherry and has a great atmosphere. It serves only four kinds - from fino to olorosa, at very good prices. Sip on a...More

Enjoyed the atmosphere more then the sherry. Great old place. Looks like it hadn't changed for quite some time. Good be trial location.

A wonderful bar, frozen in a time when mobiles and LED were not invented and where people liked to socialise around a couple of glasses taken directly from the barrel.

Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once
home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de
Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The
neighbourhood is committed to celebrating its rich
heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes
from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to
them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas
receives a fair amount of spillover from the center —

I am visiting Mumbai 20 - 24th Feb '15. My tour company has booked me on 'A city tour' and a 'walking tour'. I was looking at 'night street food tour' (interested) but also keen to see Ghandi's house on 23rd also a friend who visited recently visited some wonderful tapestries. Is there something you could put together for me with what's mentioned. I am a single traveller.
