We had a great night. We were surprised at the quality of the singers. We understood there would be opera singers during the dinner but didn't realise it would be the waiters serving us. There is something special about being right beside people singing with...More

This was my final night of a solo trip to Madrid and I like to finish with a nice dinner so when I read about La Castifiore, I made a booking. I was there on a weekday evening so the restaurant wasn't full (probably about...More

La Castafiore is an unusual--and extremely pleasant--find. Although opera is hardly the first type of entertainment that one associates with Madrid, La Castafiore has turned a pretty standard restaurant into dinner theatre. The waiters burst out every so often into famous arias, sometimes solo, sometimes...More

As good as the singers are - and they're very good - the pianist is better. The performers clearly enjoyed themselves. They played off each other effectively and engaged the diners in a fun way. Highly recommended for all the performers.

First, the food- it was ok, nothing spectacular. Alcohol flowed freely. We went there not knowing what it was about and were amazed when the servers started singing Opera. I can't claim to be an expert but their voices sounded wonderful. Also, they knew how...More

What a great recommendation from my Spanish friends! We had a great night here with fine wine food and operatic singing waiters and waitresses! I recommend you book ahead as it's in massive demand.

Initially I tried to book a different restaurant (Cafe de la opera), but it was full. Our concierge suggested this place, and it was very fun! I was told it opens at 9, but actually show did not start until almost 10 pm. They are...More

Think of it as a dinner with singing waiters or cook to serenade patrons. But instead of singing, they do Opera and Spanish Zarzuela (musical comedy). Unique, and very cultural way of spending your dinner. We came here as part of our Trafalgar optional tour...More

A very nice and different type of restaurant, went to a similar in Paris a couple of years ago. Food could have been better but this is a place for fun and entertainment!

Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where
many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where
the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and
people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main
thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is
Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables
serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture
of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses

La Castafiore is the leading restaurant in Europe (since 1996) for opera, operetta and entertainment. Diners are offered a live operatic show during dinner enacted by the restaurant's singing waiters. The piano sets the mood for the evening and music is present throughout the meal. At midnight La Castafiore invites diners to toast the cast of La Traviata with a glass of Cava.
