Basic bar environment and great food. We had to stand at the bar and eat because the tables outside were occupied. We assumed that it would be a sit down restaurant - hence our average rating because it is more a place to meet on...More

We were coming from Prado museum. Everyone were too tired to even think of anywhere else to eat. So, we decided to eat close to our flat. We wanted to try something we've never had before and ordered the gambas a rebosado, ensalada mixta, pulpa...More

I live in Madrid and "El Brillante" has always been a chain of typical great spanish bars. This one, probably because it's so close to Reina Sofia museum is a tourist trap with tripled prices. Quality of the food very average unfortunatly, what a disappointment

Dropped in here on a hot October afternoon for a drink and snack. It is recommended on a list of 15 legendary bars from El Pais. Not sure about the legendary, but it was the perfect pit stop. Its not cozy, and the service is...More

Locates near the train station and on plaza beside modern art museum, this place is a bit higher priced and perhaps targeting tourists. But it was just what we needed after our long flight before we went to see the art! Daughter had a calamares...More

Went there twice, sat at the bar and was served straight away. Great calamari sandwich, but specify which size you want first. Good coffee , nice cold beer, churro and chocolate was great, vermouth on tap as well, friendly old guys , as a few...More

I know the reviews are not good but we had 2 drinks, 2 calamari bocadillos and they were spot on, the place was full to capacity and for a quick refuel we loved it.
