We were a little bit late for a lunch and the place was full, but the waiter managed everything, in a few minutes we had our seats. Food was soon at the table. Taste was really good, but the portions could be a little bit bigger :) Stuff, as I said was really good, with smile and with a few... More

Went here twice on our 5 day trip in Madrid. We went to lunch and had tacos and then went with our son and had enchiladas. They give you chips and two salsa's to start. For lunch I had the Pastor tacos which was pork, pineapple, and lots of cilantro. They were yummy. For dinner I had the beef enchiladas... More

This is a real Mexican noisy cantine in the ancient Madrid hart. Run by Mexican natives, with real Mexican taste! We are talking about "quesadillas", "tacos", "chilaquiles" anda si no. No fine dinnig. First time i see "flor de calabaza quesadilla" in Madrid. Alamillo's square is also a fantastic spot. Owners have another finest place nearby.

We had an excellent dinner. I had enchiladas in salsa verde and my husband chili relleno - both were excellent. The service is very attentive which might make one feel rushed, as another reviewer suggested. But, we did not think anyone was intentionally rushing us. We sat for another beer after dinner and no one hurried us out. It was... More

We had booked a table outside at the main restaurante but were told none were available and sent to the associated restaurant in Calle Cordon 6. On arrival we were fisrt ignored, then told there were no tables on the terraza. Eventually we were given a table which was directly oppposite the air conditioning vent and hence were treated to... I arrived near the beginning of the lunch service and was seated inside with at most 2 words exchanged. A menu was dropped off, I ordered a beer and tacos pastor. Tortilla chips and 2 salsas were put down, and my beer. Both salsas were tasty, the beer was cold which was good as it's warm in Madrid right now.... More

We arrived as a party of 10. We were welcomed and looked after really well. Good selection of Mexican beers and very tasty tacos. Nice touch giving us all a shot of tequila.

We were invited here by a Mexican friend living in Madrid and I was very impressed indeed. We arrived without a reservation on a Friday lunchtime and there was no problem finding us a table. I think it's the best Mexican food I have ever tasted, much better than anything I have ever tasted in London. No Tex Mex in... More

This was my second visit here as I enjoyed the food the first time. The food was great on this visit as usual but we felt a little rushed to finish as the restaurant was very busy. I would visit here again but when I am able to sit outside and relax more. As I said the food is great... More

Everything I have had there is delicious. If you can't make up your mind, the waiters are really good at recommendations depending on what you tell them you like. The waiters are so nice... It's a nice change from Spanish waiters. Don't forget to order their special cafe de olla after lunch!

Staying in La Latina

Neighbourhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighbourhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
