Been coming to Lucio's for more than 30 years. Used to be the IT place in Madrid where the rich and famous would meet. As Lucio has grown older it has lost some of its luster and now is a fine place to eat and easier to make a reservation The "broken eggs" are still the signature dish Ann the... More

A bigger tourist trap than Boltin and the food ain't as good. Go in and have a snack at the bar as unlike everything else the wines by the glass are reasonably priced.

We were seated early for Madrid at 845 pm. Wine list is small but selection was good. The bread awaiting us at the table was bland and dry and a big disappointment. But things got better. We had some Manchego and it was the best we've ever had. Followed by some artichokes in olive oil with ham. Delicious. We also... More

My husband and I and our two adult daughters lined up at 830 pm to see if we could get a table for dinner. We were so fortunate to get a table as we experienced one of the best dining experiences we have had! The service was outstanding. We had the mushrooms as an appetizer which were delicious. Then we... More

Try the cochinillo... This place has more than 100 years or so, is located near the royal palace in a very nice and unique part of Madrid. Casa Lucio is for having an authentic spanish plate, great for anyone who wants to live a unique experience and feel the spanish style eating tradition... A must

As most of the restaurants in Madrid it opens at 20:30. Don't forget to make a reservation or you will just waist your time waiting for a table. The food was good with many Spanish specialties and the waiters are nice. A nice experience but expensive for Madrid.

Everything we had was absolutely delicious. We were able to find all vegetarian items and was really good. Our waiter was fantastic. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I just finished an extremely interesting dining experience. Casa Lucio is the essence of Spanish traditional dining. We arrived at 8:50 into a virtually empty restaurant. By the time we left at 11:30 the restaurant was packed and buzzing. We were less than happy when we were initially seated. Our waiter, Jesus, turned into the very best... More

A bit off the beaten track and out of the way, this is one restaurant we would not have found without the use of the excellent service of the Madrid taxis. An old and traditional restaurant, we arrived for dinner at opening time and although I felt it was authentic and rustic on the ground floor, we were seated in... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighbourhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighbourhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighbourhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
