Had an evening meal at Café Gijon the other night and liked the buzzy atmosphere but the food was very average. The servings were large but there was an overuse of oil and butter which masked the taste.

I have returned to this place many times over the last 20 years and each time I'm sorry. The waiters a surly at best - sometimes petulant. They are trading on their history. It's overpriced unless you go for the Menu del dia and even...More
