Out hotel staff recommended this restaurant and it was a good one. We arrived a little past 8PM but were told the restaurant did not open until 8:30pm. Welcome to Spain!! We joined several locals at the bar and were treated to a lovely appetizer while we enjoyed a beer and a wine (both very good). When the restaurant opened,... More

It's hard to find the right time or reason to visit this not very good restaurant. We were a party of 6 and arrived at 2:30pm on a Sunday. The dining room was empty though apparently, "fully booked" so we ended up at the bar. The food was poor, the service was worse. This is a restaurant to ignore completely,... More

My second time here was great , the price is right the wine list big enough with good selection. You can eat at the bar tapas or inside with well trained professional team. For sure I will be back.

Some years ago, this was a great place, same when sharing tapas as when ordering a la carte. Nowadays, quality is lower and service poor. I did not enjoy the ham and the clams, the tortillitas de camarones are ok, the bienmesabe still very good and meat is good but not well grilled. Price was not cheap ( over 50... More

This is one of my favourites tabernas/tapas bars in Madrid. Food quality is very good and drinks good. Highly recommended.

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
