Da nicola resides in gran via street. Its is italian resturant that cost quite low in regards to the prices in madrid. The food is fresh and incrediable and the people are worm. 2 glasses of wine 2 fresh home made pasta bread and oregano oil cost us about 40 euro

Looking through the huge glass windows, the restaurant has 2 large dining spaces and is modern. Once inside, we were promptly shown to our table. The menu had a good selection of dishes and the food from salads to main courses were delicious and though the restaurant was full, the waiters did an excellent job in service. I recommend Restaurant... More

We had a very good Italian meal here. Arrived at 8.30 on a Wednesday being the first people in but 30 minutes later it was pretty full. The menu was not extensive but all very good quality, pizza was excellent as were the desserts. All in we spent 83 Euro for 3 adults including wine and coffee, would definitely recommend... More

I tried this restaurant because it was reviewed well on another website for gluten free traveling and it was amazing. I ended up eating here twice. They have an entire gluten free menu that includes pasta, lasagna, pizza and several different meat dishes as well as gluten free bread and rosemary-soaked olive oil. The bread was great and I enjoyed... More

Tripadvisor users give good feedback about Da Nicola. I can understand it. The spot is nice, just a couple of meters away from the Gran Via in Madrid. The place is big and the tables are not too tight together. The food is decent. I ordered pig knuckle (codillo) which was very nice. My wife ordered black linguini pasta with... More

Had a meal this evening and thoroughly enjoyed my selection. Wild mushrooms with Spanish style patata pobre. Then a spaghetti bolognese with perfectly cooked spaghetti and a lovely sauce. The service was good, one particular waiter, older than the rest, being quite jovial and very amicable. My only criticism would be that, even the specials, not one pasta dish was... More

I've come several times with my family, everytime we go to the theater since the location is great, just in the middle of Gran Via. The food is delicious and the portions are big, for me it was enough ordering just one plate and a dessert to share. After this I was totally full. The restaurant is big and the... More

I sought this restaurant out since it was recommended on several gluten free blogs. They have a gluten free (sin gluten) menu with other allergens clearly marked. The warm bread dipped in olive oil is delicious - I even got seconds! I ordered the half portion of the gazpacho, as did the lady at the table next to me. My... More

Went to this restaurant based on the reviews here-can say I don't know what all the fuss is about. There are so many more cheaper and nicer restaurant in Madrid that I don't feel this deserves to be as well rated as it has been. Portion sizes were too small for the price being paid and flavour of the food... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
