Delicious food in generous portion sizes. We ate around 7pm from the Menu Del Dia at €15.20 per head. Tapas to share as starters, main course was choice of two dishes with dessert too. Service of the food was fine but as usual we waited ages for the bill and seemed to find it difficult to catch the waiter's eye!

Best restaurant I visited during my trip to Madrid. The food was excellent and reasonably priced (chose from set menu). The staff were great and the interior was amazing. The location was very convenient. Would love to go again!

We wanted somewhere nice for our last lunch, and how good was this ? The set menu for €12 was excellent, two courses & coffee, great value. We treated ourselves to a bottle of wine, still only cost €36. Great food, amazing decor, the only negative was the amount of time spent waiting for the bill, that said, the food... More

Hoped for simple well cooked meal of pulpomand sepia. Both were tough, under seasoned with overcooked vegetables, main course plonked down before we had finished the starter ( also bad). Careless service.

Worth coming to for the decor alone, but have to say the food chefs special 3 course menu at 16.50€ was a great deal, cooked and presented well, I had sirloin steak, beautifully cooked. It does a good job well and reasonable prices, we will come here again next time we are in Madrid

Ducked in here to get out of the rain and have a drink and a snack. The interior is cozy and inviting with dark wood. And the menu has an okay selection of tapas and tostas, and is also in English for those who need it. Our red wine (from Ribera) was really good. We ordered a tosta of pork... More

The starters and main courses were really good. The service was good, but at 8.45pm they had a poor selection of desserts and even came back as our selection from what was left was no longer available. A disappointment from an otherwise fantastic meal and place to eat.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
