It was excellent! We were 2 people. We had mushroom in cheese sauce as a starter; plenty of bread and stripped steak for 2 people, which was more than enough food! Just bear in mind that the portions are very large, but extremely tasty!

We were staying nearby and wanted a Spanish traditional restaurant within close walking distance. I saw El Pimiento Verde and popped over to see if there were any vacancies for 2 people on that evening which was a Saturday. Spoke to the young guy behind...More

I went here for a steak dinner and ended up having one of the best artichokes I have ever had, the place is nice and warm and the service is outstanding. The steak was good but not mind blowing.

Great basque cuisine, good hearty meal. The portion sizes are HUGE so maybe share a couple! The wine is good too! Staff were polite and efficient and the bread was amazing. Prices are high enough for lunch in Madrid but the portions are so big...More

This was proclaimed by the waiter both times we ate there, and it is so true. This is a great place to get a delicious and affordable meal in a friendly and lively atmosphere. Try the artichokes and the calamari. A good assortment of reasonably...More

The environment is family like tavern. Wood tables and relaxed atmosphere. Staff is young and friendly. The noise is acceptable. I am always here when in Madrid. We found the food very good .Don't expect gourmet style cooking but real Spanish cooking. My friends are...More

We loved the sweet thick balsamic drizzled on the manchego cheese, the artichoke flower appetizer and the blue cheese cream sauce on the Iberian pig dinner was also wonderful. The wine was also very good.

Our local tour guide recommended this local restaurant which was near our hotel and open for those of us who eat earlier than 8:30. It was amazing. Flavors were wonderful and great selection of meats and fish. Went back for a second time before returning...More

My 3rd visit here (over 2 years). 1st was enjoyable. 2nd was less, but "ok". 3rd (this time) ended with a decision: "no more visits". Place is cozy, the famous "Artichoke flowers" dish-is mostly recommended. And thats it. Waiters were nice but them and the...More

Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense
University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced,
collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is
filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes
and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing
cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping
spot where the major Spanish clothing and department
store chains are less busy than their downtown
