We were on a day trip to Santiago de Compostella and needed a bite for lunch before the cathedral turned out. Our guide had pointed down this street as a good place for bars and restaurants. Very friendly greeting and quickly shown to a table...and offered English menus. My wife had the Tortilla Espanola which was huge and came with chips, it defeated her! I tried the marinated meats and chips (Zorza) which was very tasty. We asked for two glasses of the local wine Albarino. A new bottle was opened and it was very good. All this came to €19.40, great value, and very friendly service.More
On a recent visit (May)to Santiago de Compostela we were walking down the lanes looking for somewhere to stop for lunch when we happened upon Trebol.
Most of the restaurants in the area were less that busy but this place seemed to be really buzzing....We asked for a table for 4 and they just about managed to squeeze us in.
The menu was all in Spanish but the waiter was very good and translated everything for us.
We had 3 courses for 10.90 euros each, the portions were good and very well cooked.
In particular the Hake was very good but saying that everything looked good and everyone in the restaurant was happy and chatty.
It has a very good family atmosphere and there were lots of locals in there.
In a word 'Fantastico'.
P.S. try the house red wine named Ramon de Bilbao, its excellent.More
