I came across this small restaurant on my first night in Barcelona. The place was simple but filled with locals which was a good sign so I sat down at the bar not really knowing what to do but even with me speaking very little Spanish somehow I got my food and beer! The food was home made and good... More

We accidentally stumbled upon this place and we loved it. The friend camembert with tomato jelly was just yum. Actually all of it was.

Had to sit by a noisy air con unit rattling away throughout the meal. The food was poor quality and expensive for a simple Tapas meal we had. Would we eat there again, no sorry.

They don't speak English here so we were given the set menu. The seafood paella was the best I have ever had and the cakes delicious.

We were recommended this place, so without doing further research decided to give it a go. I should point out that no English was spoken at all which, whilst isn't expected, after all we're in Spain, does make life easier. Regardless of that we managed to order some food which we were confident we knew the basis of, and indeed... More

Went here because Id been craving some good seafood for sometime and after reading reviews about the place I thought id be in for a tucked-away treat. But, I left disappointed and wondering what the fuss (reviews) is all about. The restaurant is hideously over-lit, as is the fashion with most Spanish (especially family run) restaurants. The food was average,... More

We stayed at the Confortel Auditori in Barcelona, after checking in we decided go out for lunch. Searched for a good restaurant via TripAdvisor, and found out there was a restaurant few feet away from our hotel (because we were tired and lazy so didn't wanna walk far). We walked into the restaurant and asked for a table, but the... More

We came to Jaizkibel after recommendation from our hotel's staff and we came back twice during our short stay in Barcelona. We used to eat at the bar just showing to the staff the dishes we want to try. The seafood at Jaizkibel is delicious, with a slightly different choice every night. But there are also some classic meat dishes.... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
