The restaurant felt very authentic. It's well decorated with two key sentences appearing above the bar. One tells us that the staff don't speak English, but they make awsome food. The other claims there's no. wifi so people should talk among themselves. Even without understanding each other language, we managed to order from the English menu and get good ansewers... More

I'm going to boringly mention the potato balls, little minced meat and fluffy potato balls, with a crispy coating and alioli and hot sauce are.... Amazing, so much so my husband is looking to make them at home 😁. The veal was tasty, as were the sardines. Also very yummy was the toasted bread with garlic sauce. Sangria was lovely,... More

This is a real gem on multiple levels -- great food, great prices too, especially given Barcelona being a pretty expensive city. They're all about the basics and they do them really well. Really enjoyed the Crema Catalana dessert as well!

Food so fresh and delicious! Our 11 year old really enjoyed the pescadito frito (fried sardines), we also had the prawns, bacalauh, morcilla, tortilla de patata- all really good. Don't forget to bring cash!

We've been wanting to come here for a while as the reviews are great and there's always a local crowd lining up to get in. My partner and I ordered the chorizo in dry white wine, patatas bravas and the garlic prawns - all fantastic! We're coming back tomorrow to try the other tapas!

We went there based on all the recommendations and it was totally worth it. If you love seafood then it is the place to be and there are a wide variety of tapas options. We were super happy with the food and great service.

We chose it because it was full of locals and they ordered their "bombetas" a kind of meat stuffed potato and breaded. Very very good. You have to try it !! We had an excellent red wine and some wonderful prawns. You can not miss this tapas restaurant !!

It's always a pleasure to come to this place. Great food, awesome prices and no bs. It's an old school place. But you have to love it.

My family and I were in Barcelona for a couple of days. When in Spain, tapas is a must but where to go? My husband found La Bombeta online and it had great reviews and I can see why. There was not one dish we didn't like! Mussels, olives, manchego cheese, chorizo and bombeta's (meat filled mashed potato ball). The... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
