Unfortunately, this was a terrible hotel experience. I could only imagine wanting to stay here if I were in Barcelona in my 20s to party. The interior walls were incredibly thin, the windows were decent but given that the exterior walls were thin, street sounds easily penetrated through the building. The floors were creaky. So overall, there was just noise... More

It's a real eye opener just to walk around the market, such a variety of foods available as well as the tastiest of fruit smoothies. What surprised me was the size of produce available, everything was in giant size nothing like what we have in the UK. A great place to wander around, as the area gets very busy be... More

We really enjoyed our meal here. It's a very elegant setting, with good service, and quality food. The desserts were AMAZING. I would recommened the dessert "el camino al Cairo" - to die for!

Good food with fresh ingredients. I wiuld recommend to take a first and a second, because only a second dish could result too little... they have good menues with 2 dishes, drink and desert for around 20 minutes at night... Innovative, typicsl spanish food!

We have eaten here a couple of times and found the food to be tasty, well prepared, and good value for money. The staff are lovely too.

We stumbled across this restaurant because it was close to our accommodations. We felt underdress but stayed for dinner anyway. The menu selection was very good, prices were fair and service was friendly. We had such a nice experience we went back for dinner the next night. Would definitely recommend this place.

I have travelled the world and been to many different types of restaurants. I often read reviews but rarely make one myself; I thought I had to here! The restaurant was recommended to me by my hotel receptionist, a few blocks away. I wasn't sure how reliable the recommendation could be, since I wasn't really asking for something that matched... Lovely surroundings but food was disappointing. Also, the bar service was possibly the slowest I have experienced anywhere, nearly 40 minutes to serve a beer & a gin & tonic!

Elegant and formal with a modernist look, the unique character is the result of the balance between food and interior design. The cuisine is based in the Mediterranean tradition, going for the lighter cuisine with contemporary touches. Longlife Recipes, cooked over a low heat and with the best ingredients from the market in a cozy environment that radiates a sophisticated warmth.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
