I enjoyed my order of curry shrimp and really loved the steamed new potatoes with a creamy sage foam. No room for dessert so I returned for some chocolate cake the following evening.

Small, friendly and tasty. Great value for money. We had tartare, anchovies and bocconcini. Sangria is a home made recipe. Enjoy.

Appearances are deceptive with this little gem of a restaurant. It looks pretty basic but as the food arrives you realise you are actually entering a gastronomic journey worthy of any great restaurant. The quality and care that has gone into each dish makes this a wonderful place to eat and the atmosphere is relaxed. I can't wait to go... More

We'd read about this restaurant before our cruise which was stopping at Barcelona and were determined to seek it out. It was quite difficult to find, but once we did, it didn't' disappoint and excellent value for money.

We have found Iposa by luck in our last day in Barcelona. The place is small and cute with great serving and delicious food. We have all chosen the daily specials (roast beef and a dish of calamari) and we enjoyed a great lunch for small price. They have tapas for both vegetarians and meat lovers; for dessert, the cheesecake... More

Stopped here for some lunchtime tapas. Kitchen was due to be closed but they kept the chef on for a few minutes feed us. Food was really imaginative and tasty and good house wine to wash it down. Had we been staying longer we would definitely have tried it for dinner. Very cute place.

Found this place online while wandering near the food market. Had a lovely lunch al fresco; their lunch set menu is a tremendous bargain with a drink, soup and entree (or two tapas) and coffee for nine euros! Had mussels, beef and beans with pesto and mozzarella. The soup was a vichyssoise. Great neighborhoody place with kids in the playground... More

Very laid back inexpensive bar and restaurant in Ravel behind the Boqueria market. Really lovely staff. Superb healthy but creative food in generous portions for bargain prices. Try the house Cured Salmon, the Duck Roll or the Steak Tartare. Small but pretty terrace. Great set lunch for 8 euros consisting of a bowl of chilled soup, choice of any two... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
