Hands down the best tapas we have ever had. And it isn't close. Recommended by our guide as his personal favourite spot, El Vaso de Oro offers a variety of local favourites at very reasonable prices. Service was excellent and with a smile. Cannot recommend highly enough.

After some disappointing Tapas on our first night in Barcelona we returned to the Vaso de Oro after a three year absence. We were lucky to get 4 seats at the bar and so were quickly eating the delicious Tapas and drinking the free flowing beer. The kids got stuck into potatoes and chorizo. While we pushed the boat out... More

Located in Barceloneta, this very friendly bar offers tasty home made craft beer and nice classic tapas. You enjoy these at the bar counter amongst locals with friendly service.

A friend of our who lives in Barcelona took us here - thank God! Full of locals, it's got atmosphere in buckets and it makes great entertainment to watch the run this tight ship. You may have to wait a little while to get a seat but as long as youre drinking their beer that wont be too much of... More

We had some very nice tapas here and the prices were reasonable. It was a great place to enjoy some time catching up with old friends. The bar has a nice classic ambiance where you can sit at the counter or bar tables, or just stand and talk with friends. It's a bit cramped, and seems to be a popular... More

Went for lunch in this busy place. You get real tapas feeling, small dishes, great taste, we had beer and wine with our food. JUST go there 👍🏻

Didn't remember how good the Foie Gras is at el Vaso de Oro. It's always difficult to park and to find a place inside but just the Foie Gras tapa pays the visit. Simply delicious!!!

This is a traditional bar in the Boquería in Barcelona. A classic. But the food is not particularly good. You'll get better tapas at a less crowded place.

The place was buzzing on both visits but the very helpful waiters helped us to get a table. A choice of light or dark beer and wine is available. The fact that his was obviously a favourite of the locals tells you its worth walking a bit further away from the main drag to sample the food and to take... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
