Ca L'Isidre is now a regular stop whenever I visit Barcelona (from San Francisco) with work colleagues or socially. It is a small and warm venue in a way that makes everyone feel comfortable, not overly ostentatious or showy. It is about the food here,...More

This was without a doubt our highlight meal in Barcelona. Fantastic service from our waiter with some great local wine recommendations to match our meal choices. Lovely decor & fine dining experience in a very out of the way location.

Maybe one of the best Restaurant of Barcelona!!. Solid, almost 50 years in the business, the location is outside of the Center of the City, in the old part of Barcelona. Unfortunately because of the reconstruction of San Antonio market, (very near) it takes some...More

We had an evening meal here with friends. The food was excellent - appetisers of anchovy were succulent and salty; starters of octopus with potato and a lovely sauce; main course was sea cucumber - I have never seen this on a menu before so...More

El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this
gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an
excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic
spots in the entire city. A sense of humble
authenticity protrudes from the many independent
record stores, second hand shops, and student bars
that seem to light up the streets day and night. The
rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day

Ca l'Isidre is the best formal Catalan restaurant in Barcelona. Royalty, celebrities and gourmets have been returning to this small family-owned, art-filled treasure since it opened just off El Paral.lel avenue and inside the Raval quarter in the 70s. Because it relies on what catches chef-owner Isidre Girones at the nearby La Boqueria market that morning, the menu changes day by day. Go for the classics every time: the sausages, grilled prawns, fried codfish, and lamb brains in black butter, for example, are out of this world. A special mention goes to Ca l'Isidre creative desserts. A must-visit restaurant.
