We went here to get a good seafood paella. Its a good fish restaurant, classy service, nice wine and atmosphere, but not worth paying so much for a disappointing paella. The pans were shown to us briefly and the contents then transferred to a plate out of view. The rice was a muddy brown colour and mine had a few... More

We had a family lunch at Botafumeiro. Service was very polite and attentive. We had fresh seafood and Paella and it was fantastic. If you love fresh seafood, raw or cooked or want to eat a perfect Paella go here. The place is very expensive but it is worth it because the quality is top. The setting of the restaurant... More

The staff are so friendly and professional, perhaps best I've encountered. The food is not cheap but it is amazing and worth the price. I came back the next day to have the paella again!

Absolutely perfect couple's meal! We indulged in a platter which had a huge amount of seafood!! There was an issue with the translation on the menu in that they there was Lobster.....the Spanish menu said 'langoustines' ....big difference. Very fresh, great service and we were even sang to by two Spanish guitarists. Gorgeous evening and we would return!

Walk past the Bill Clinton photos and those of many celebrities.Paella is the Star but many laud the fresh fish selection of this Port City. Vast wine list and fairly priced Spanish wines (Albarinos about $30 a bottle). Only criticism is restaurant Lacks a good bar. Classy place with aWoodsy looking multi level dining room.Features small 4 t0 6 table... More

Absolutely fantastic. Old school style restaurant with excellent service and delicious food. Whilst reading the menu it seems exspensive but all the added extras make value for money really quite good.

This was a perfect pick for New Years. What a spread. Magnificent seafood platter and great apps! Atmosphere was first class and very old school classic. They played great must. For midnight and the waiter was one of the best! A must stop for great seafood.

My friend and I made our reservation for the peak dinner hours, 9pm thinking it won't be too busy because it's Wednesday. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The restaurant was jam packed. Even though it looked very busy we got out food ordered quickly. The waiter was courteous and gave us a very good recommendation on the... More

Description
Among the three hundred diners that fill this 30-year-old restaurant every day, you may spot the King of Spain, movie stars, and politicians. Botafumeiro has to be a well-oiled machine to keep all and sundry happy and coming back for more, and it does. The decor is so trad, with wood railings and banisters, white table linens, and nautically-themed art and objets. The menu focusses on the sea, try fruits de mer for two to start, followed by anglerfish fisherman's stew with white beams or one of the barbecued fish, then a dessert of Belgian chocolate volcano with chocolate sherbet. Wine list is an ambassador for Spanish wines.

Staying in Gracia

Neighbourhood Profile
Gracia
Gracia literally stands out from the pack. It used to be an independent town until late into the 19th century. Though it’s just a short commute away from the centre, a visit here feels like you’re in a whole different city. The bohemian vibe has drawn many international artists to this area, resulting in a wide selection of galleries, live music and artsy boutique stores. The nightlife is centered around the vibrant Gracia’s plaças, where young and old gather to enjoy a drink outside. Carrer de Verdi, its main street, offers affordable restaurants and a movie theatre that screens new as well as classic films in their original language. However Gracia's greatest treasure lies just up the hill at Guell Park, where Antoni Gaudi's vibrant and revolutionary art sculptures stand atop unequaled views of Barcelona.
