We have ordered a seafood Paella for four people. It was not paella absolutely. It was full of liquid when paella should be dry or creamy. The seafood was very good but the paella execution was completely wrong in our opinion. Probabily other typical plates are better.

The place is very original, you have a rough and particular service, but if you don't take it seriously, it's fine. The food is regular, nothing amazing, but not bad at all. Good menus, check them.

I have had a dinner here. I ate a very very tasty black paella, I drunk 4 glasses of sangria (amazing gin sangria) and I ordered a coffee. In the end I spent 27 euros. It's a very honest price. The service was simple PERFECT. Congrats to all the staff!

Excellent drinks - the mojito is fantastic and minty, and only 5,50 euro. Beer and vermouth only 2 euro and really fresh, lots of seating outside, friendly service. The patatas caleuche were fantastic and great value. The perfect place to chill and relax with a great atmosphere.

Good local experience, old timey restaurant. Next time will ask for the Catalan menu. Olives were something else, also great anchovies. Monkfish main dishes pretty good.

Can Lluis is one of my favorite restaurants in Barcelona, and I have been coming here for more than thirty years. My wife, however, who also loves Barcelona and food, is not as fanatic. She complains that the food is heavy. I think that we each are right in different ways. The food is traditional Catalan cuisine, without flourishes. The... More

A good friend from Barcelona told us we must go here for the braised pig trotters. When we arrived we were mystified that it wasn't on the menu. We asked the server who exclaimed, "ah-ha!" and fetched us the Catalan menu. Do not order from the english menu, ask for the catalan menu! The authentic and local cuisine does not... More

I had diner at that place with 9 other people. We ordered pretty much all the tapas they have and then a main course per person and that was too much food. A few of us ordered a dessert though. We drank wine and a lot of water and we ended up paying around 35€ per person which is a... More

Our meals tonight we're incredible. Best olives in the world. Roasted asparagus for appetizer. For dinner I had baked monk fish that tasted like a slice of heaven . My friend had the veal and said it was outstanding. We arrived when they opened and the quaint little place was full within 15 minutes.

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
