Late night after finishing a rather disappointing tapas tour we went in search of diner and luckily stumbled into El Argentino. Hands down the best part of our evening was the wonderful local crowd from Eixample with tables full of couples and groups of friends having a wonderful weekend night. This fun and comfortable atmosphere was largely the result of... More

Visited with two colleagues from the Netherlands, booking via Trip Advisor. Visited on a Sunday evening with some colleagues, booking online gives a 40% food discount but you need to all have a main course plus a starter or dessert. Point to note is that drinks do not qualify for the discount. Steaks were excellent as were the starters. Good... More

You get what you see and even better, with a fair price, good ratio quality vs price. A really good Argentinian restaurant with their typical cut for meat, outstanding service, in a nice environment. The list of dishes is diverse and well served, take their advice in case of need.

We went here on a Thursday. It was almost empty at around 8:30. The host asked if I had a reservation, which while not all together unwarranted was rather silly. I ordered the T-bone, the other folks ordered the Fillet. The wine was a well known Argentinean Malbec (7 upish standard). The waiter agreed that the the wine was excessively... More

Recently been there for lunch with 3 colleagues from work. We went for the parrillada instead of the normal menu and actually it was quite good. We did enjoy the different meat and appetizers too. We had 2 bottles of rose wine; even the wine was fine I think is the only thing that it is quite overpriced both glasses... More

What do you prefer? Quantity or quality? Here you will get none. We went with some friends because we thought it would be cheap and nice. However it turned out to be pricy and tasteless. Some of us were still hungry after spending up to 30 euros each. I would never recommend it. Expensive and mainstream. The meat is not... More

The food was excellent although possibly a little on the expensive side. The side-dish options were limited for main courses but the 2-person tasting starter was a lovely introduction to the steak. Service was a little slow when it came to requesting the bill and paying.

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
