We discovered this place on my gluten free food app (I'm celiac). What a treat! A super fun atmosphere, knowledgeable waitstaff, great food with incredible presentation. We loved it so much the first time we took friends back for a second visit. It was even better the second time! Highly recommend!

Where do I start? First of all Matthieu was an outstanding server. Attentive, polite and keen to engage with his customers. La Bomba (check the menu) was delightful. On the whole the croquetas were very tasty. The Onglette steak dish (served very rare) was delightful and served over smoked rosemary, a really pleasant touch. Very reasonably priced, locally sourced food... More

This thoughtful, slow food approach to tapas shines at La Castanya. Great cocktails. Great, friendly, bilingual service. With hundreds and hundreds of restaurants to choose from I'm glad we stumbled into this one.

Amazing food and staff! Definitely have the best patatas bravas! The beef croquets are yummy with a hint of lime. My choice of drink was the strawberry mojito! 😍 Their manager Sebastian was attentive and stopped at every table making sure everyone was enjoying their food. I

Quaint little tapas bar. We loved the ecological/local vibe to the menu. Tons of local options. We went for lunch and it was very fairly priced for the quality. I can't believe it is not ranked higher because it was the best tapas restaurant in our 4 days in Barcelona. The chef creations are on point. I'd recommend sitting at... More

We had our first meal in Barcelona here and enjoyed it. The food is interesting, we had fish with chilli and pork with lavender, both were lovely. Wine list is expensive compared to other restaurants we visited. The waiter offered his advice and I ended up buying a bottle for €26 I think it was, far more than we paid... More

A complex and versatile atmosphere. It's great for a sophisticated second or third date, a starting spot with friends before your night takes off or a comfortable night cap. The lighting is specific and right on time. La Castanya makes the often overlooked relationship of mood, layout and menu selection mesh perfectly. The croquettes are mind blowing, slow down and... So I came here to check out this place. I honestly only purchased one item it was the "bomba" small fried cheese ball. It was good but would have preferred they showed photos of their items and food tapas so it gave you a better picture of what you were getting. Especially since this was my first tapas bar I...
