It's so easy to recommend places like this. Great atmosphere, great food, friendly staff, and it's a nice plus that the menu is also in English and the staff speaks Spanish. This is a great place for lunch or dinner. You won't be disappointed.

I've frequented Origens twice and both times I was blown away with the service, food, and wine selection. Serving traditional Catalan dishes in an easily portrayed way is what this restaurant is best at. With a menu that changes with the seasons, and very helpful staff to help you navigate it, I highly recommend this restaurant to get a taste... More

Friendly eats in the middle of El Born. Fantastic food! We went there twice during our one-week stay. Service is very familial, locally sourced quality meats and veggies. A must!

The place is nice, very well furnitured, new, clean, nice low music and very confortable tables. The menu is nice, they printed kind of a magazine, with pictures for all their meals. I got a fideua (catalan noodles) that in the picture looked full of fish and vegetables. Also it is described as noodles with fish, crab and vegetables. There... More

We have been at this restaurant many times over the past 10 years. It consistently serves good Catalan food. The lamb was delicious this last time. Apparently the same people are also operating the nearby Pirineu en Boca restaurant. This is somewhat confusing as the address still shows as Origens in TripAdvisor.

Lovely quaint little restaurant with great healthy food and good wine. I over-ordered not knowing how big some of the portions were but alas I finished all my plates but gutted I didn't have enough room for dessert (there's always next time). The lady that served us was lovely and very helpful. Great value for money.

I'd been to their previous restaurant around the corner before and loved it. This one was OK, food was good but the new style menu (it used to be like a magazine) is quite confusing. It your willing to try anything and want a taste of real local specialities, go there for sure - not much space though so go... More

Sweet little restaurant tucked away in an alley serving fantastic food, by a wonderful staff, with excellent prices. Four of us enjoyed a delicious lunch. We shared a couple of amazing salads (the four of us could have shared one) and then we had cannelloni stuffed with vegetables and cannelloni stuffed with chicken and wonderful sausage and white beans. I... More

I am a very picky eater and am very allergic to shellfish and also don't eat pork so eating traditional Catalan food is pretty difficult for me. Dels Origens caters to everyone, plenty of vegetarian, fish and poultry to please anyone who is picky or allergic to something. We were a group of 5 and had 2 starters and a... More

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
