Frozen seafood. Bad and unfriendly service. Basically nothing works as it's supposed to do. Please don't eat here! There are many many better places around the market.

We went to this restaurant with my wife the first day of our arrival. We were tired and went to this restaurant, even if we noticed that it is a restaurant for tourists. As expected, the food was not very good.

Didn't check the reviews before going here, however it is strategically located close to the market with a few signs for deals. The food was okay, however we were overcharged for drinks as others have highlighted in their posts (almost 7 euros each for a medium sangria). Since the restaurant has no drinks menu, they can in theory charge what... More

Tried to Google this restaurant's rating before entering but mistook another restaurant's high rating for this place due to Sukaldari's big bold signage of "Euskal Restaurant" on the outside. The staff was friendly but the food was poor tasting. Paella had very little seafood in it and they taste stale. Just forced it down nevertheless after finding out the actual... More

Initially we saw paella and tapa €12.95 on promotion board at the back of the restaurant facing the market. Bill came as €14.95 and we learnt that the board hadn't been updated. Portion of paella was very small but tasty, w gd seafood flavour. The tapa was a small dish of fixed seafood salad comprising chopped crabstick, a few pc... More

If you would like to eat near La Rambla, you may expect bad food and high prices. Exactly this we have experienced in this restaurant. We had two Paella for two persons. Both sea Paella, but they were different on look and taste. Disaster. We had also one bottle of wine, which has been overpriced. My suggestion to all of... More

The paellas not so good, the waiters are rude, they put a nice girl at the entrance to make you go insinde, and you found out that you make a big mistake.... Disappointed.

We had two paellas and they were ok. The real surprise was being given a bill with two cokes for €13 (about $20). When I went to query the bill, the waiter immediately reached for the drink menu (no words were said yet, and he hadn't produced it when we ordered). He indicated to us "that's the price, it's on... Tapas, paellas, rices, "pinchos" and some details from Basque cuisine are some of the delicatessen you might find within restaurant Sukaldari.
Just a few meters and facing the Boqueria Market you find this lovely place with 3 floors and with a non-stop kitchen from 9am to 1am where the guests can enjoy a tradicional and quality product from Spain.

If after your visit to the market you are starving, your best choice is then Sukaldari!

Staying in La Rambla

Neighbourhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetising selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
