Went at around 11am on a weekday. Counter had some empty seats available.
Counter staff was friendly and efficient.
Food came really quick. We ordered the razor clams, cockles and prawns. Because it was cold in the market, the food did not come all at once - the clams and cockles came together. Once the staff noticed we were finishing, they cooked our prawns which arrived piping hot just as we finished the shellfish.
Then we ordered another serving of squid which came pretty quick too! The garlic olive oil was phenomenal. The clams, cockles and shrimps were all fresh. The squid was very tender too.

We ate here 5 times in one week because it was so amazing! Our waitress Jenny was fabulous - efficient, friendly and bubbly. She couldn't do enough for us. The food was indescribable - so much so that we plan to return to Barcelona in Aug 2020 solely based on the many gorgeous fish dishes we enjoyed here in 2019.

Located in the food market, we found this place for a tapas lunch and it didn’t disappoint. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food choice and taste were both great. Thought it was a little on the pricey side for what is after all a glorified market stall not a restaurant, however, we still really enjoyed the experience.

Food is below average while price is seriously jacked up. The Sangria tasted like really cheap wine. But the super low rating is because the waiter requested 3 times that I give a tip. That he flags the service is not included is totally acceptable, but that he insists 3 times for me to leave a tip, even suggesting an amount on the third attempt, is just too much for me.

After seeing this bar recommended on a few websites we thought we’d give it a try. Queued for a little bit as it was busy and then showed to our seats. The menu looked very appetising with plenty of variety. Unfortunately what we weren’t told until we went to order was that there was quite a lot of items not available at that time. We were then rushed to make a decision by an impatient waitress and sadly the tapas dishes we did get were average. The overall atmosphere of the place is brilliant and being located in the middle of the marketplace allowed us to scope out all the stalls around us. I think at a less busy time and with a full menu this would be a brilliant place.

Shocking service and way over priced for the standard of food. €17.50 for garlic prawns that were tasteless, tiny and of the quality that you could pick up from Lidl for a few euros... It was literally smart price prawns in cheap garlic oil. Amazing considering they are in a fresh food market!
Half the order turned up then the other half seemed to be forgotten. Worried and hurried looking staff brought the rest over ten minutes later.
You are better off walking around the food market and buying off the vendors as you go! It's one of the only times on my many visits to Barcelona I have felt like I have been mugged, absolute Rip off.

Delicious food experience right in the middle of the market. We particularly enjoyed the fried codfish, octopus and the pardon peppers but everything looked great. Good spot for a lunch time break

We have been visiting Barcelona for many years and always take a trip round the market. A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I decided to grab a few tapas in the heart of it. It's fair to say it was disappointing. The travel guides and blogs would have you believe that the market is the place to enjoy freshly prepared dishes at reasonable prices in a buzzing atmosphere. I would personally describe it as a 'tourist trap'. There was nothing memorable apart from the portion size of the padron peppers which was huge. The tortilla was reheated and overcooked. The two accompanying beers were expensive. You have to question why they were bottled when we had requested canas. Draft was available.
We will be sticking to our tried and tested on the next visit to the city.

Getting a seat at this location was a challenge, but the wait was worth it. The wait staff offered authentic local food suggestions from the menu. They were friendly and quick to deliver our meals. The food was delicious .

I ate twice at the Central Bar, the place on the right side of La Boqueria. The food was excellent, at a very good price. Everything is fresh and cooked on the spot. Asked by Yasser, he advised us with the menu. In addition to the good recommendations, he was very attentive to our comfort and safety. I recommend Saint Jacques shells, baby octopus, tuna fish, fried anchovies and baked peppers.

Found ourselves two barstools and allowed our waiter to take us on a culinary journey. We tasted many fabulous tapas bites that were our selections, supplemented with our waiter's suggestions to round our our experience. Highlights included inventive crispy puffs of dough filled with chilled gazpacho, grilled octopus and roasted hatch chiles. Could have stayed all afternoon! Staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Be sure to grab a seat to watch the action - quite an amazing operation with such little footprint!

The food that was supposed to be hot was served cold. The drinks that were supposed to be cold were warm. Service was just horrible and there were more people working there than there were guests. Prices were absurd for Spain and even for touristy Barcelona. AVOID!!

For two days in a row we had lunch there. I must say it was not just a lunch, it was quite an experience! Letizia and Javier were the most wonderful hosts we can have, very very attentive and involved, always smiling and sociable.
As for the food, on both days we chose fish and seafood, excellently cooked and presented, and we enjoyed a glass of sangria at the end.
I strongly recommend the place, it's an experience that no one visiting Barcelona should miss!

We went to eat on 11.04.2024, we chose to try the Paella as it was recommended as excellent in several reviews. This wasn't the case, we ate the worst paella, burnt, half raw rice and not at all tasty with a cost that was disproportionate compared to other places, costing 22 euros per person (exaggerated for the terrible product that was given to us). Although criticism was presented, this did not lead to any explanation or apology. Another consideration...the cleanliness wasn't the best! A piece of advice... if you want to eat Paella go elsewhere!!!
