This place took me by surprise. It is not in the middle of a tourist spot but actually hidden away in back alleys. The food was just absolutely amazing. The octopus and oxtail were lovely. The beef cheeks in the mains were just out of this world. A MUST have. In the desserts i had Death by chocolate and in... More

RESTAURANT'S FAVOURITE REVIEW
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 November 2016

Mere words are not enough to rate this restaurant From the moment we walked in the door we were looked after like VIP's To start you really must have a Blackberry Mojito their signature cocktail in the words of She Who MUST Be Obeyed its to die for. The menu is is not too expansive which to me is always... More

Unfortunately I cannot give this place a good review simply because the main dish was pretty horrible. Everything else was great - appetizers (tapas), wine, atmosphere etc. I know ordering paella in Catalonia is risky but if you put it on the menu it had better be great. It was terrible. Undercooked shellfish which leaked a foul tasting black liquid... More

We visited on a recommendation from a friend who'd visited over a year ago, we certainly weren't disappointed. There were six of us in the party and were greeted very warmly with the waiters suggestion that we really should try their blackberry cocktail, he was right, delicious. The starters were something else, battered prawns, they were enormous, you've probably had... More

Visited on recommendation of the hotel and overall enjoyed the visit however its 'tripadvisor rating' is out of line with the overall quality. I think because of this our expectations were so high they could not be achieved. I don't want to be a misery guts and the people were very pleasant however my wife had prawns which were covered... Found this place through TripAdvisor and it proved to be a true gem. Wonderful blackberry mojitoes to start with followed by food that was a delight to the eye as well as the palate. The black rice with seafood was awesome and so was thw shrimp tempura. Very friendly staff. Can highly recommend it.

Ate here in late January 2017 and despite the not so pretty location in El Raval it was really quite special! Nice design, funky and interesting. Steak is very good!

We decided to visit this restaurant after looking on trip adviser and we were not disappointed. The Tuna Tarta was delicious, as was the Lamb. we were too full to have desert, the couple on the next table managed to have them and they looked good. The price was really reasonable - I would recommend this restaurant.

Having sought out Cera 23 a few years ago and really enjoyed the contemporary cuisine we visited again (booking weeks beforehand) to visit with friends. The food, service and ambiance where, again, fabulous! Interesting food with great delivery and flavours. As classically trained chefs ourselves, my wife and I LOVE this place. Not cheap but great value for a memorable... More

A cozy Galician restaurant with a short & fantastic menu of starters & main courses. The atmosphere was great and it is very busy during the dinner hour, got some luck to walk-in for the last table. Picked Tuna Tartar, Ox's fillet Tataki and Cevraiche to start with, main courses were Beef's cheek, Ravioli with foie and Beef fillet, gotta... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
