We spotted this place after a visit to Casa Batllo, just off Passeig de Gracia near to Starbucks. We sat inside and had 2 coffees. We ordered at the bar but had table service for the coffees and the bill was left on our table for us to pay whenever we were ready. Whilst at the counter we had a... More

We visited in our first morning in Barcelona, the places we had planned to visit were either too busy, could not find or were closed! The service was good, the coffee was ok and the food selection was quite good. The baguette I had was good but the base a bit soggy from the tomato. My wife had a nice... More

The additional charge for sitting on a terrase was more than double, simply just because we were turists. This was not mentioned anywhere and obviously was not true. Btw usually the charge is 10% top

I found the cake average, the chorizo sandwich was a bit dry, but the coffee is heavenly. Cafe Italia was the name of the coffee we got, amaretto and grappa infused with the coffee. Very good! We also got Suis, which is one type of the hot chocolate they offer, it's good for chocolate lovers.

Restaurant / outdoor cafe. We wanted a lite dinner before 8pm when most restaurants in Spain open. Outdoor cafe in a midway between busy streets looked appealing. Ordered American coffee - delicious . Bratwurst sandwich & hot dog sandwich were our choices. The sandwiches were very good. Service was fast & friendly but we were not rushed. Enjoyed the cafe... Waiter was attentive, but the place was empty. The sandwich I had was a multigrain (grilled cheese) for the most part and was tasty. My wife had a pastry that was OK.

Our favorite place for breakfast was closed, so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, besides the rudeness of the waiters and the slow service, we had a cold toast, one mushy caña dulce and two coffes. If it wouldn't be enough, we waited to pay and at the end we were surprise with an extra cost of 5€.... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
