A broad range of delicious tapas to choose from. Friendly atmosphere and attentive staff who speak good English. Seems to be popular with locals too, which is always a good sign.

Ate here twice and sampled the Tapas, Sangria and Gambas- have tried other Tapas bars in the area and this is the best so far. Everything was delectable, but unlike most Tapas bars, the staff didn't make us feel like it's such a chore to serve us- they patiently spoke to us in english and prepared tapas on the spot... More

Crowded charming place with fresh pintxos 1,95 € a piece. You take what looks tempting and pay for the amount of toothpicks on your plate afterwards.

Walked past this place the previous night. Our kids can be somewhat fussy but we decided that the adults were going to eat what they wanted. After a nervous start, the staff were engaging and helpful to the shy, non Spanish/Catalan speaking folks. We had a great night and the kids managed to eat as well.

Placed very near of Santa Maria del Mar Cathedral, this place has a good variety of very well prepared Pintxos. Lots of wine to choose from. The staff is very friendly, and speak very good English. Free WiFi.

From the outside we spotted the bar which was packed with all these amazing looking small tapas like bites (mini sandwiches, spoons with one bite meals, small glasses with soup and a spoon, and loads of other mini bites). They looked fresh made and a must try! Only "negative" thing to say is when we sat down they didn't have... More

Had the most wonderful night in this bar. The staff were fantastic as was the food & wine. What stood out most was the friendly atmosphere & general vibe of the place.

My wife and I came upon Golfo whilst looking to escape the thunderstorm. A great little tapas bar, we picked at the tapas laid out on the bar and ordered a fantastic cod omelette. There are broadly three types of tapas places in Barcelona, namely 'local', 'cool' and 'tourist' Golfo is one of the cool places and I'd recommend it

This place is what I've been looking for! I had heard about choosing tapas goodies and then the waiter counting how many toothpicks on your table to determine your bill. But until Golfo de Bizkaia had not experienced this. After leaving the fabulous Picasso Museum we wandered until we found this place. We had a beer to accompany some of... More

Description
Maritime inspired in concept and design, Golfo de Bizkaia is an intimate space, very informal, which is divided into two parts. A space dedicated to the bar of tapas and another place to taste typical dishes of Euskadi, but in casserole format. Near the church of Santa Maria del Mar and a few meters from the Paseo del Borne.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
