The staff at Can Costa knows what hospitality means. In addition they serve delicious tapas and paella. Something you must have tried on your trip to Barcelona. Nice located near the beach, it's the perfect end of a hot beach day.

We were looking for somewhere on our last day before returning to the airport after an afternoon on he beach. This is the first restaurant on the way back to the metro. Older guy outside touting for business pointing at the "menu del dia" for 11.95 which I thought was fair for 2 courses plus a drink so we asked... More

Totally waste of money, bad food and the service (they don't know what that is). Just don't go there.

What can I say.... If you want to stay healthy, avoid. Its a wonder that this place is allowed to operate and serve what they describe as "food".

Tourist trap. Avoid it. They cheated us. When the check came, they charged 60 euros for bread and ham that they brought, apparently for free to the table.

The Can Costa has a lively atmosphere but the food & service were extremely disappointing. I had the seafood paella, and it was overly seasoned with little actual seafood. The waiter also chose not to give change (after an automatic service charge was added to the bill), which I thought was an awful way to treat a customer and left... More

Everything was terrible. Waiters were rude, they didn't care about us at all. We ordered the menu of the day which included starter, main course, bread, drink and a dessert. We had to ask the waiter for bread because he forgot about it. We also had to wait 45 minutes for main course which arrived cold and super salty. After... More

While visiting Barcelona for five days my family and I would make a stop into Costa daily to relax, recharge, and enjoy their coffee products. The staff here is extremely friendly, kind and thorough. The drinks are delicious, well presented, and reasonably priced. There is free wi-fi and a clean bathroom, should you need to freshen up. Extremely enjoyable time.

Can Costa history dates back to the end of the 20s. Now, almost 100 years later, still owned by the same family run by the fourth generation.
Our cooking is, at present, like the one made in the "merendero": Our cooking is plain, tasty and of great quality, with fresh products that we daily select.
The restaurant, of Mediterranean atmosphere, full of light and cosy, has in the centre a big window facing the kitchen to watch us work the food for the dishes on the menu.
The restaurant is divided in two floors, which allows to hold private meals, business meals or family events, always keeping enough privacy.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
