Really lovely food, but the menu is very loud and colourful - really confusing! But once we navigated that and worked out what we wanted, we had some yummy tapas, the staff were lovely and very friendly. Great place!

First stop in Barcelona. I must say, this was quite new to us due to the fact we didn't know what to order! They have a vast menu and we where a bit lost at the beginning. We ordered the bravas and mini hamburgers and obviously the "ensaladilla" which i craved to try from London! They were quite delish! They... More

Located in one of Barcelona most important "gastronomical mile", I had the chance to have dinner with my colleagues at La Cañota. The food quality is stunning and the tapas concept is very fresh compared to traditional tapas. We had several tapas and they all were amazing. Hope to come back at night with friends for dinner

I echo other reviewers who highlighted the expensive price. Have been in Barcelona many times and for several weeks. Tried many restaurants. Liked places such as Cerveceria Catalana. Now back to this review. We went with my family (total of 5). The kids had the mini burgers. Just 1 beer and a small portion of prosciutto. Nothing extravagant. What was... More

Having had many tapas over the visit to Barcelona this is truly the best we had, good prices for good quality food. One member of the party is a Spaniard & knows tapas, highly recommend

I booked a table here for my friends birthday meal. It came highly recommended and for the most part, it didn't disappoint. Lovely tapas, lovely drinks and reasonably priced too. A special touch at the end with candles in the dessert. The only thing I found was that the tapas were mostly fish orientated, good for me, not so good... More

After being unable to find a spot at Tickets, we were suggested either a Mexican or Spanish restaurant with business cards at hand. My curiosity piqued because these were clearly restaurants part of the same group. The prices were a bit higher than other restaurants in very touristy places (think Plaça de la Catalunia), but the Cod cakes were very... More

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is fresh and well, good. Prices are reasonable and a little on the high side. The waiter is a great help with the menu. This is a must go place in Barcelona

The staff was really nice and helpful. Also very good paella - best we tried from all places in Barcelona. Would definitely come back to this place!

A recommendation from a Galician in Barcelona we went for lunch on a Sunday. Book in advance as it was full, with families, couples and tourists. Easy to see why, as it has a good mixture of traditional tapas with some more modern ones. But even the traditional ones are not done the way most Catalan, Castillian or Andalucian tapas... More

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
