If you're near La Bouqeria Market in Barcelona, try to grab a stool at this very crowded (and rightly so) tapas spot. The garbanzo beans are simply the best and we had them 4 or 5 times because we kept craving them every day! The...beef was candidly just okay and not worth the price, same with the shrimp, which was good but not great. There are so many kinds of tapas to try here, and outside of a few items that were just okay, Pinotxo is a great place to grab a few bite sand a beer...or two!More

We were lucky to find 2 opens seats around noon time and had the pleasure of being served by the famous Juanito. We just asked for tapes and he delivered 2 wonderful dishes (both featuring garbanzo beans perfectly seasoned). A bit pricey after experiencing the...free tapas of Granada, but well worth it. I wish we stayed for a couple more, but we decided to take in the rest of the market.More

Bar Pinotxo was one of the most delicious places we ate at in Barcelona! We went for breakfast, and had the Xuxos! This is a must have at this location. Cream filled sweet pastries that are great with Cafe con Leche. We also had the...croquetas and a Tortilla de Calabazina (zucchini) which was savory and delicious. Would come back here again and again! Juanito is a local legend and did not disappoint.More

Resilience is something human beings have proven time and time again is one of our best traits. It was refreshing to visit after 12 years and see this family still hanging on and having a great time. The place continues to be popular as before....That only means patience is the name of the game to score a seat in this bar in the middle of the Boqueria market. We had an amazing arrayed of dishes including chick peas, baby squid, and beef cheek. This last one from what they told me is from an old family recipe. While they have a menu, no one ever follows it. Given they are located in the middle of the market they get the freshest ingredients that very day. Go with their recommendations and you will be more than fine. Don't miss out on the mussels if they have them. They are simply prepared but delicious. It was a reminder that it just takes good quality ingredients and not tons of them to achieve culinary greatness. If you want to take a picture with the family patriarch, he is on hand and more than a willing celebrity. You simply cannot go wrong. That feel of family running it is part of what ultimately will warm your heart after your stomach!More

We came here for lunch. We weren’t sure what to order as part of our group was vegetarian and we didn’t see any descriptions on the menu. Our server was very accommodating and we ordered all the vegetarian suggestions he gave us. My favorite item...was the lightly friend zucchini which came with a side sauce. It was so good we ordered it a second time. The meat-eaters in the group also had the garbanzo beans (which contained sausage) and they said it was amazing.More

Counter style service in the Mercat de la Boqueria. Inexpensive and the food is good. Worth going for a snack or lunch.

Baby squid with beans was one of the best and delicious dishes of my entire life. It was super tasty. It was such tasty that I do not want to mention the rest. It made the other things we ate seem ordinary. It was that...good :) Thanks to Mr. Juanito (he doesn't speak a word in English so it was hard to communicate or he just didn't like us, I don't know:))More

We were lucky enough to get a seat at the family owned bar, had chickpeas and lamb, at suggestion of staff, absolutely wonderful. Fun seating and watching the cooking.

Right at the front of one of the best markets in the world you’ll find this legendary tapas bar. If you find a seat free grab it! You’ll pay a bit more, but it’s worth it. Not only for the excellent market sourced ingredients, but...also the fantastic service and atmosphere.More

Neat little countertop bar/restaurant in the market (La Boqueria) off La Rambla in Barcelona. Right inside the main entrance. Have the omelette and coffee with milk for breakfast and top it off with an awesome pastry. Well worth the visit. Run by an old man...and his family for years. Good and colorful.More

We had breakfast here 3 out of 5 mornings. Perhaps we should have branched out and tried other places too but we came here on day 1 and really enjoyed it so we just kept coming back. Besides they changed the food every morning so...there were always different things to try. The only thing we had more than once was the cigali (chickpeas and blood sausage) which is their signature dish so they serve it every day. The prawn omelette was my favourite but I remember the spinach omelette also being very nice. There was always a big pot of meat stew on the go. One day it was braised beef cheeks and another day it was oxtail stew. Both were good and came with tomato-rubbed bread to mop it up. There isn’t a menu – it’s not that sort of place. The waiters just let you know what’s available. There was a bit of a language barrier but for the most part, we relied on asking the waiters what was going that morning and simply saying ‘yes’, then waiting to see what turned up. Or we looked at what others had and pointed to those. Despite our hopelessly inadequate language skills, the waiters were helpful and friendly, especially once they recognised us on the second (and third) mornings. It was all good fun. Seating is on stools along the counter, where the food is cooked up in front of you. A space at the bar is highly prized and you might have to wait for a spot to become available. Pinotxo opens very early and I think we were normally there by 8-ish which was early enough to get a seat. Once you are seated, service is fast but once you are finished, it’s good form to move on rather than linger.More

This is a traditional tapas experience. No menu; just talk to the waiters and tell them what you'd like. The chickpeas and the fried artichokes were incredible. Great food, fast service, and very engaging waiters.

Fantastic little place on a great food market. Old batman seems to have been there forever. Fresh tasty food cooked quickly to order. Locals standing two deep, so you’ll have to squeeze in. Prawns, langoustines, octopus, chickpeas and sausage all delicious. Also fresh orange juice,...although the locals seem to just guzzle cava! Cash only (like many places in the market). If it’s too busy there’s plenty of other places to try, so just go along.More

It is very well known among locals and visiting foodies alike. We went early morning so we were able to get a seat at the bar easily. We came for the Cigrons (Chickpeas) because this is their famous dish and they were delicious but we...also saw some locals eating Cap i Pota which looked really good. So we came back the next day and ordered that. We absolutely loved it! One of the highlights of our European Trip. Also, the staff were really friendly and we even got to take a selfie with the famous Senhor Juanito. It is definitely one of our more memorable meals.More
