I had read great reviews about this place and went for tapas and a glass of wine one evening. The tapas were ok but nothing special as was the service and wine. I had walked for 30 minutes to get there, so felt cheated.

We went to Maitea for dinner. It was about three blocks from where we were staying and was the only Basque place in that part of town. I didn't enjoy the variety of pintxos as much as at Irita, Txirimir or Euskal Etxea but it...More

Maitea Taberna came highly recommended by our hotel (U232) and my family and I had an incredible Spanish Pinxos experience on our last night in Barcelona. First off, we like the fact that it's family friendly. My wife and I visited with our 11 year...More

Our Spanish friends live in Barcelona and took us to this restaurant on our last day. They have a 'normal' menu where you can order a plate meal or there is the hot and cold tapas where you can walk up to the counter and...More

This place was recommended by the concierge at our hotel as a good place to get a beer and tapas for lunch. I skipped the tapas and, instead, I ordered the lamb chops and fries and thought they tasted delicious. The lamb chops were a...More

Maitea is a great place to explore the local cuisine in one place. The deal is 5 tapas PP and a main course for each one. The restaurant offers bottomless Txakoli wine which is typical Catalan wine that resembles white sparkling wine, only lighter. For...More

I had a 3 days stay in Barcelona before returning back to the States. Maitea was close to the lodging I stayed plus with good reviews from Yelp. So I decided to check it out. Apparently before 1pm, they serve breakfast only (I arrived at...More

Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you
enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally
translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes
recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant
atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district,
Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end
international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the
glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best
