...for Chilean people :) It was awesome to enter this place and immediately feel home. The atmosphere is quite similar to the one you can find in some places from my country: pictures of famous Chileans (Alexis, Claudio Bravo, and many others), "retablos" from nice locations, and of course Condorito!! Food was awesome, we are a family of six, and... More

Have eaten here several times over the years. Always plentiful. Nice scone/spiced tomato and peppers to begin with. You will not leave hungry and out of pocket.

I'm Chilean and can confirm that the empanadas and pastel de choclo were exactly how I remember grandma's tasting! Friendly staff and fun decor. If you've ever wanted to try Chilean food and you find yourself in Barcelona, here's your chance!

As you walk in the automatic outer doors almost take you by surprise. So into a warm, galley-like twin row of tables leading to the bar and kitchen area you venture. Only to find round the corner it expands to twice the size. The menu was clearly printed in Spanish and English and offered a decent variety of meat, fish... More

We were in Barcelona for one night after our cruise and before we flew home to the U.S. and I really wanted Paella in Spain. The problem is, I don't eat mammals or mussels. We asked our hotel to recommend a place and they took us further than we wanted to walk and the place they recommended ended up not... More

Hugo's is a Chilean restaurant located in La Ribera area of Barcelona. We tried here as it was close to our accommodation and, being Chilean, it was one of the few places that wasn't completely full on Catalan national day. Staff are friendly and eager to please. As they are less of a tourist restaurant, their English is less good... More

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
