This is a fantastic family restaurant with almost 50 years of history. Two of the founder's sons work at the restaurant giving it a very personalized service even though it is a big restaurant. It is " far away " from City Center. About one hour walk or 10 minutes by Taxi. The food was delicious and the service was great... More

If you love lamb, Azofra is a good bet. It's not far from the center and offers a comfortable dining room with professional waiters and high quality products. We started with the typical black pudding from Burgos and then ordered lamb, a steak and turbot (a fish). The lamb was cooked perfectly, juicy on the inside with a crunchy skin.... More

Have been visiting this place for many years each time I come to Burgos, is for me, the best restaurant in Burgos for local good (lamb, rape - fish, morcilla, chorizo, etc). Service is outstanding, wine selection is great (try the local wines from Ribera de Arlanzon or Ribera del Duero. Beautiful restaurant which you should not miss out when... More

You can find a few places in Burgos where to eat the typical lamb of the area, even more..."posh" and expensive, but nothing like this one. The food is absolutely out of this world, staff is helpful and lovely. You can even have the menu in different languages, which is not very common. This is for sure a restaurant to... More

Of the quite good "asadores" in Castile this one has received plenty of favorable press exposure. Why? is a mystery. The place is well appointed but their main attraction, the wood roasted baby lamb, is not on top of the list of our choice. It was a little overcooked and, they use lamb older than one expect in this sort... More

I am a frequent visitor of restaurants in Burgos city and surroundings. In the past Azofra was one of the preferred options and I have recommended the restaurant to friends and colleagues. However the las two times I had lunch in Azofra I need to say my appreciation is no longer so positive. The typical "cordero asado" is no longer... More

There were very few places to eat in this part of Burgos on this particular evening so we waited until 9.00pm when it opened. We went for the braised steak and it was good. The service was good and courteous but lacked some personality. We thought the total bill of EUR 67 for a 2-course meal was quite expensive for... More

I really liked the lamb (lechazo) which I think was the best I have ever tasted. The rest of the meal was also quite good and the service efficient and corteous.

My wife and I ate a very exquisite food. Since this is a real "asador", l had a lamb leg. It was delicious! The choise of wine is very broad. The service is perfect. We recommend this place.
