All reviews tasting menu suckling pig tuna tartare cold tomato soup six courses fish sticks bread kimchi lamb ice cream pasta surprise menu every single dish best restaurant in town local ingredients booked this restaurant every mouthful
We had the tasting menu at this lovely restaurant. All was freshly cooked. The dishes were artfully presented. The tastes & textures were delightful and well worth €48 per person. We are not saying too much about the food we ate as it’s a tasting...menu , so don’t won’t to spoil your surprises.
The waiters were very friendly
attentive & knowledgable with a good sense of humour.
Why Seve Díaz hasn’t got a Michelin star baffles us.
This a a small but very busy restaurant, so booking is essential.
We booked at least 8 weeks in advance.More
Absolutely fantastic. My wife and I went for the 6 course tasting menu and it was some of the best and creative food we’ve eaten throughout the world!
The atmosphere was great and the service was very tentative.
Give this place a Michelin star!!
Seve Díaz is an imaginative and utterly brilliant chef whose Tasting Menu (€48) of six courses is ever changing.
Flavours and textures titilate the taste buds and good presentation and excellent service combine to make our regular visits here the undoubted highlight of our culinary...experiences in Puerto de la Cruz.
It remains a mystery that Michelin have not yet bestowed a one or two star ⭐️ award for this small and intimate restaurant.
Last night’s Tasting Menu was entirely different from our meal last week and is briefly stated below.
Tomato 🍅 explosion…..a single bite of liquid tomato in a crispy shell.
Tasse of prawn soup .
Pampano fish ceviche with mango ice cream.
Mini pasta dumplings with shredded black pork in an Asian broth.
Abedejo fish wrapped in spinach with an intensely flavoured green sauce made from fish stock, garlic butter and parsley.
Suckling pig with any reduction of the jus, celeriac purée, tiny cubes of apple and carpaccio of apple.
Strawberry sponge, carpaccio of strawberries and strawberry ice cream.
Mini liquorice crumble with blood orange ice cream and a lemon sauce.
ALL IN ALL AN UNFORGETTABLE MEAL IN WHAT IS DEFINITELY THE BEST RESTAURANT IN PUERTO DE LA CRUZ.
We will return next week to sample more magic dishes created by Chef Seve and well described and served by his two first class waiters.
To dine in this 26 cover restaurant you must book 4/5 weeks in advance.More
I can't stop thinking about this meal. I saw someone say they would have driven an hour for this restaurant - well, I did (an hour and 15 minutes, from the other side of the island), and let me tell you, it was WORTH IT....Two friends and I did the "long menu" with the classic favorite dishes, which was 11 courses, plus two tasters and the beginning and an extra post-dessert. Everything, and I mean everything, was amazing. The bread with kimchi butter. The most tender squid I've ever chewed. Delicate wreckfish ravioli. Tender lamb bursting with umami. I could go on. The dishes were creative, reflecting local ingredients and traditions but with various new twists. The service was phenomenal. Our waiter, who's name I have unfortunately forgotten, shared his love of the NFL (we are American, and there weren't many of us on Tenerife, it seemed), talked about his twins, and made sure we had a great experience. He recommended a very good local white wine that was also not very expensive at all. I wanted to go back the next night for the surprise menu - as the other food coming from the kitchen also looked and smelled amazing - but alas it was not in the cards. Do yourself a huge favor and EAT HERE.More
After a 2 year break c/o Covid we finally managed to return to Puerto for a holiday, making a point of booking well in advance at El Taller Seve Diaz (for my husband's birthday). We were not disappointed, Seve and his excellent team fully maintain...both their very high standards of cuisine and service. Our appetites limit us to the 6 course tasting menu. How on earth people can manage the more extensive course version is beyond us.More
We were lucky to get in to this restaurant during our stay in Puerto de la Cruz, think I picked up a cancellation a couple of days before as every other day / time were fully booked so definitely make sure you book well in...advance, it will be worth it. We were booked in at 7pm and the first ones there as they don’t open until 7pm. From the start the servers were very attentive and definitely knew their thing, advising on the wine and explaining each course. We went with the 6 course “surprise menu” which was more like 8 courses and seemed very popular with a lot of the diners. We said my husband doesn’t eat seafood so ours was tailored to that, I also heard the next table request lamb as their main meat dish so they are very open to adaptations. Looking around, different tables appeared to have different dishes and a lot of food photos being taken. The food is amazing, very well presented, full of favour. My favourite was the hot appetiser which was pork dumplings with an Asian themed broth poured over at the table. We also had a pre dessert, never had one of those before, a very light cream cheese, ice cream, candy floss. All the food was a delight for the eyes as well as the taste buds. It was just over 2 hours of a total food experience and well worth the money.More
Amazing food. Amazing service. Truly the best food I’ve found in Tenerife. Their tasting menu is outstanding and well paired with local wines. If you are looking for a unique dining experience look no further, but be sure to book well in advance as it...is a small restaurant. My next trip to Tenerife will surely include a visit to El Taller Seve Diaz..More
