Nice clean restaurant near the hotels. Waiter was very friendly. Menus in multiple languages and waiter spoke several. I'm a vegan and he helped me make sure I was catered for. We had veg samosas to start which could of been hotter, only luke warm, but still tasty. Mango chicken curry for my wife, saag aloo, veg dopiaz, chipati and two types of rice to share to follow were presented very well and all were hot and full of flavour! A bottle of house red completed dinner and the bill was about €40.
No need to book, walk ins seemed ok. Good place for a curry!!

Happened to spot this restaurant whilst out walking and decided to come back for dinner. We were a bit worried that the restaurant would be too hot inside but there was a lovely cross breeze between the open window. Portions were generous, delicious and not expensive. The waiter was excellent, and asked how hot (or mild) we liked our food. When it arrived he said that, if it wasn’t to our taste, he would change it for us - who does that? Went back a few times and was never disappointed.

The food was excellent. We went twice in a week. Service second time was a bit slow but we had nowhere we needed to go. But so worth the wait. We were warned by the waiter service was slow as kitchen staff was limited.
Onion Bhaji were excellent, All our meals were good (7 of us)

Wife and I stopped here for food whilst on holidays. We had read the reviews and we were.lookinh forward to it.
My wife ordered the Butter chicken as she's not a spicy fan, I ordered chicken tikka biriani
When the waiter / owner brought out the food he said something along.the lines of "I hope you like it spicy" but thought he was joking as I'd ordered a mild sauce to go with it. OMG after one mouthful of the cold rice my face was on fire from the chilli's. There was no other taste apart from heat.
Totally destroyed our night out as there was no way i could eat it. Luckily the butter chicken was nice and cooled my mouth down and we shared that between us
When the waiter came to see if everything was okay I told him the meal.was way too hot. He picked up my dish looked at it and said "ooh lots of red chilli's", and that was that. No apology no money off bill as the Biriani was hardly touched. Shocking
Outside we met someone who had heard the exchange and they said they had the special biriani and it was bland, no taste at all.
If you are going to give this place a go please try something other than the biriani. Worse meal we had all holiday. Would never go back even if in area again

After 12 days of excellent dining experiences at various restaurants in PLDC, this evening we chose Indian. Thursday around 20:00. Only 2 guests in the room. Since we weren't that hungry, we chose papadam with dip and each starter (lamb tika). Asked if rice and sauce was included. Answer no. Costs extra. Then asked if they didn't have dishes that included rice and sauce. Answer yes. Then chose a lamb dish, WITHOUT onions (I can't stand onions). The wife was satisfied with her starter. Inside I get a paella-like portion, a mixture of rice, chewy tasteless pieces of lamb and, strangely enough, a lot of onions. In addition, they set out separate bowls of rice and sauce. Since I had chosen a dish that included rice and sauce, I didn't react to this in particular. However
I pointed out that I couldn't eat the main course because of the onions (which I specifically said I can't stand). They blamed me for making the wrong choice and demanded full payment, which I refused. The waiter then offered a 15% price reduction, which I also did not accept. Finally, after much discussion) he reluctantly crossed the dish off the bill after which we paid and left.
In summary: rude behavior from the wait staff, bad food and compared to other restaurants in PDLC very expensive. Avoid this place.

Probably the best Indian restaurant in Tenerife. Well, there aren't many on the Island and Mother India is only the second one we have visited. But compared to the 'highly recommended' Indian restaurant near our hotel in Costa Adeje in the South, Mother India in Peurto de la Cruz is in a different league. I am vegetarian and know what good Indian vegetarian food tastes like and this did not disappoint. The rice was perfect and the Bindi bhaji, Chana Masala and Dal were all delicious. We asked for slightly spicy and it was perfect. A really good aspect of the way the food is served is that it came in metal dishes that were sitting on top of tea lights, so the flames kept the food warm until we finished our meal. Bottles of Kingfisher added to our enjoyment. My only disappointment was that we couldn't have chopped onion with our poppadoms and the sauces. 10 out of 10 for everything else.

What an amazing find, we one of the best indian meals we've had. The service was very quick and the waiter was happy, chatty and explained the menu to us. Explaining medium spice would suit our tastes better. I had chicken tikka sizzler with a curry sauce on the side. So delicious. Hubby had a fish curry and we shared a fried rice. More than enough to share . He said it was delicious, and would definatly have it again. Very good value for money .Would recommend a visit

First visit and excellent meal. To be honest we could have shared they were such big portions. The staff were very quick to take your order and the meal took around 15 minutes to arrive. All in all, would definitely give this ago again.

Came upon this place again 3 min walk from our hotel, on arrival was greeted by Maria who was warm and friendly Along with rest of the staff. Food was outstanding at every course, they also have a kids menu and a variety of dishes. Multiple choice of starters and main courses were very generous portions are served. Would highly recommend this place for all you Indian lovers or those that would like to try Indian dishes, they are served from mild to spicy with each person choosing their own serving of spices .

We found this little spot by accident, but came back again during our holiday. Loved the food and servings were really generous. Staff offered to cook each item to suit our individual tolerance to heat. Well worth a visit.

I wish I had read the previous reviews about the Biriyani before ordering my meal . I ordered veg biriyani and it was just like a bag of rice you would put in the microwave totally flavourless with a cold insipid sauce , I was very disappointed. My husband got the tandoori chicken which he said was nice . Service was slow and not particularly friendly so will not be returning.

Huge dissapointment. Had lamb, most pieces were so dry I couldnt even chew them; probably sheep. Out of probably 8 pieces, 2 were ok and tasted like lamb. Nan wasn’t fresh made and the only flavour I tasted from the sauce were sugar. Do yourself a favour and find yourself an established restaurant.

Visited on our second night in Puerto de la Cruz and wasn’t disappointed. Really good portion sizes, staff were friendly and helpful and the food itself was delicious.
We had a Chicken Tikka Masalla, Butter Chicken, pilau rice and a naan and was honestly on a par with some of the best Indian meals we’d had back home.
Great amount of flavour and spice in both curries, generous portions and the naan was light and fluffy.
Prices were really good for quality and portion sizes.
Will be visiting again for sure before we leave!

We were looking forward to trying some Indian food as a change during our 6 week break. It's quite a large restaurant with covered outdoor seating and also quite a few indoor tables.
Our drink order was taken promptly followed quickly by the food order.
We ordered the popodoms and mint yoghurt for starters which arrived immediately and were just enough for us. There was a short wait for our mains which suits us fine as we don't like to be rushed. My husband had ordered Karahi chicken and I had ordered king prawn jalfrezi which is my favourite meal. We both asked for Madras spice level hoping for plenty of heat following an earlier review.
Unfortunately neither of our meals had any spice at all which was a big disappointment. Also we had to use the plates which came with the popodoms which were cold. There were no chapattis either which was also a shame.

We were walking past this restaurant and could smell the spices from the sidewalk. I never turn down an opportunity to enjoy some Tikka or Naan! We had the Butter Chicken and Tikka Masala Chicken - both at the "madras" spice level. Holy cow that was the middle option and it was spicy! We LOVED it! So glad we didn't go for a higher spice level since Spain tends to land on the light side of spice. This was fantastic. We highly recommend!
